I bought a drop forward, the screws that were already there on my ASA were to short for my drop +warp feed bracket. So I venture to home hardware, and find the correct threaded screws but about a half inch to long. So I look, and look and find no shorter screws of the correct threading. SO I figure my dremel will be able to take care of this, well, it took me about 10 minutes of sparks everywhere and a really hot screw to get about 4 lines of threading done...May I ask how AO would reccommend I get these screws down to size?
Darn screws...

have one of those bench grinder things with the spinning stone on it?
ifso you could use that to grind them to size.

just clamp the end of it in a vise and cut it with a hacksaw. Put a nut on it first so you can chase the new cut threads.Comment

You tried grinded them down with a Dremel? Hooo boy (c:
This is what you want to do ... when you get some new screws, get at least one nut too, and get a cut off wheel for that Dremel. Thread the nut onto the screw you're going to cut, then cut off the end with the cut off wheel. Take the nut off now, and it will "de-burr" the screw as you take it off. The burr's are the biggest paint when you hacksaw or grind a screw like that, and the nut trick works good.
EDIT: Oh yeah, Tuna told you that too lol.Comment
