Can the autoresponse be put on a retro mag or will it not work? If it will work does anyone have one to sell and how much do you want for it?

Re: autoresponse frame + retro valve
I just got a Pro-Line Auto-Response. It fired only ONCE with the Retro Valve, and the trigger got stuck in the back position. As soon as I degassed the gun, the trigger released and popped forward. I gassed up again and this time, the trigger just got stuck without even firing. I repeated this three or four times before switching out the Retro for my stock valve, and it rattled off shot after shot no problemo.Originally posted by Aparo

Anyone out there with a Retro Valve & A/R having similar problems? Suggestions?-DocJ

AutoResponse + Retro
Perhaps I hafta change out Pro-Line's sear for the Retro's. It doesn't look like it's gonna be an easy task to get theirs outta there without marring something. I sure hope this works.-DocJ

AutoResponse + Retro
Muah-ah-aahh, that fixed it! Works like a charm now! No problem whatsoever. Guess I'm in need of an extra Retro sear so I don't hafta swap it every time I wanna change frames. Anybody feeling generous enough to donate one?
I can't wait to go pelt a few newbies this weekend!-DocJ

If I can borrow my friend's digicam, I'll post a pic of the working sear later this week. The Retro seems to make the pull a LOT snappier and fires more reliably than the classic valve (maybe it's just me). Wow. No more short-stroking. I could get used to this.
I found my AutoResponse on eBay. Had to wait FOR EVER for one to come up. Patience iz dee key, Grasshoppah. Going price is around $100.-DocJ

After unhooking the spring at both ends, the linkage will fold up and out of the frame. Use a punch to gently tap out the tiny rod holding the Pro-Line sear in place. Be sure to put some kind of support under the mechanism, as it seems somewhat fragile. After carefully removing your ReTro's sear from the trigger rod (kind of a hassle), line it up as shown and reinsert the pin.
this sear right here:
Took it out last weekend and chopped two balls in the breech from firing too fast! What a mess! Guess it's high time I took the plunge and bought a Warp Feed!-DocJ

AR internals!
borph,
Could you post some pictures of the way the AR works?
Having never seen one, I'd like to know what's going on inside one of those little puppies.

borph: Thanks for the pic!
In my AR set, both sears were included (but my AR is polished
); but witch one should I use (witch one for ReTro, with one for AIR)? What is the Pro-Line sear? Also my spring is a bitt shorter and mounted not on the bottom of the frame, but on the back ... it has different positions to mount the spring (two on the bottom and two on the back).
Another question: How long is your triggerpull (to get the two shots in one pull and release - just to compare it to mine).Greets Manuel

bofh: I'll try to post some pics later this week.
speedballbanks: If you mean the black metal linkage that connects the trigger to the sear, I haven't figured out how to completely remove it yet. Soon as I do, I'll post a pic.
manuel_fzr: In my previously posted pic, the ReTro sear is the one that's attached to the Auto-Response linkage. The Pro-Line sear (for AIR) is the one laying off to the side.
As for the length of the pull, there is almost no play at all. As soon as sufficient pressure is applied to the trigger, the first shot snaps it all the way back as far as it will go.
I was able to intentionally short-stroke it a time or two by releasing pressure on the trigger as soon as the first shot went off, resulting in a single shot round. This was not easy to accomplish, and took a bit of concentration. Not something I'd want to try to do during a game. Besides, why would I even want to?
