Emag charging problem

I bought a used emag and it didn't come with a cord for the agd charger. The gun also came with a dead battery so I couldn't test it on emode. Accorinf to the owner, the batteryis 4 months old. So I went to the electronic store to buy a 12V dc plug. I went ahead and charge the battery. The red light came on. Now, its been almost an hour and the agd charger is really getting hot while teh battery itself didn't get hot at all. So I unplugged the charger and tested the battery if it charged. . Unfortunately, ot didn't. Is my chrager broken or I didn't get the right 12V plug for it? Its not carrying any charge. Any help will be appreciated.

I think you mmay haave gotten the wrong charger.

Theres a sticker on the real AGD charger.. it says-

NiMH Batter Charger
16.8V / 650 mAh
Input 10-15 VDC
Green-Ready / Done
Red - Fast Charging

Are you using like an outlet in your house, or the one in your car?

I was using the wall outlet and I already figured out what was wrong. The charger is broken and its not putting out any voltage when I used the voltage tester so I think I may need to get a new one.
