welcome to automags.org, first off, click on the "level 10 guide" right there on the automags.org main screen, there is a detailed step by step that will walk you right through it.

      i have.

i'm at the detailed instructions. i can't freakin' keep it from leaking! It's a large leak.

i have the 1.5 carrier in. it's a snug fit. so i put it in and gassed it up. (without the shims, because that's what it said to do.) i pushed around on the bolt....no stop or change in sound of leak.

      what's that mean?

      ahhhhh (frustration)

try the next smaller carrier, also, make sure that the o-ring is in good shape and is lubed.

          this is insane.

i'm down to a .5 carrier and STILL i hear the same size leak.

the squeegee test doesn't do anything either.

          i've got the backwasher in..
          The power tube O-ring...
          a .5 carrier (with O-ring...duh)
and i tried 1 shim AND 2 shims.

my old spring (like the directions tell me)

          Still a huge leak.

If i just take it to a pro-shop and....stab my pride to hell because i can't get this.....how much do you think it will cost me?

i just can't get this thing to work.

Take out the powertube oring. It should go

backwasher - carrier - shims - powertube tip.

hmmm sigh well it also says....
place finger on bolt, if sound of leak changes, it is carrier, if not its on/off

              on/off maybe?

Take the powertube oring out like I said first. Then see if your leak is still there.

Remember, the carrier needs to be BELOW the threads in the tube. And NO oring underneath it.

He's referring to the on/off assembly in the valve. Take valve out- it's either the square brass piece or the round stainless piece underneath.
