    Full Auto!

I just finished assembling my newest mag and have a problem. The mag has an x valve with the stock on/off. After finally getting the x valve to fire it will only fire full auto.

Does this have to do with the level 10 tuning or is there a different problem. Is is possible to over lube the valve to a point where this will occur. I have shot (dry fire) two 68 cu. in. bottles through the valve so what ever residual oil that was present is certainly gone but it still fires full auto only.

    Any help is greatly appreciated.

Sounds like an on/off valve problem.

Easiest way to explain is to understand how a mag works. The sear is on a pivot that when the trigger is pulled it releases the sear from holding the bolt back allowing it to fire, while at the same time the sear also shuts the on/off assembly closed stopping the valve from recharging.
Since the valve is not recharging the spring on the bolt will now come back since there is no air pressure blowing it forword, when you release the trigger pressure in the on/off pushes the pin back open reseting the sear to catch the bolt and recharging the dump chamber ready to shoot again.

If your on/off pin is too short or your missing an o-ring in the on/off it won't stop the dump chamber from recharging. Because of this it won't reset the sear to catch the bolt and just keeps blowing the bolt forword, hence full auto. Check to make sure the rear part of the sear is ok, make sure all o-rings are in the on/off by checking the blow up diagrams on airguns.com tech section, also check to make sure you have the right length on/off pin, the right sizes are at the top of this page in one of the stickies.

I just had the same problem and found the pin was stuck in the o-ring.I took it apart.oiled it and moved the pin in and out of the o-rings till the movement felt smooth and then reassembled the valve. It worked fine.Try it out.I also then dripped some oil into the fitting.Works great.

I will check this but this is a basically brand new x-valve. How could the pin be the wrong length. The sear and axle are brand new as well.

Thank you for the input. I will check these tonight.

I went through and oiled the entire valve prior to and after tuning the level 10. I will remove all of the o-rings from the on/off and re-lube again. It is possible that one is sticking.

          Thanks for the help!

I will put the valve into one of my other mags to see what happens but what could be off that could cause this....So I know what to look for.

              Thanks again.

Another thing to check with the logic rail is to make sure your sear axle is all the way down into the slot and it pivots easily. I just mounted one on my mag and its a slightly tighter fit than the stock AGD classic rail. This could be binding the sear after pulling the trigger.

I did notice that and made sure that the sear axle was completely seated in the rail.

                        It's Working

I swapped valves and the new valve worked in the old frame, put the old valve in the new frame and it worked. Put the new valve back in the new frame and then it worked. Took the frame apart, put it back together and then....back to full auto.

I put another on/off in the new x valve and now it seems to be working fine. I will put some more air through it and see what happens next....but for now it's working

Thanks for the input it helped alot.
