E-Mag Battery - Typical shots per Charge?

Here's the low-down and it'll be kinda wordy, for those of you that don't want the history/specifics, just skip to the bottom of the post and there'll be a reader's Digest version.

So I bought my E-Mag lowers used, though apparently unused since the darn things were near mint when I got 'em. The board reads AGD 1.37 when it boots up so it's kinda old-ish. I've noticed as of late that the battery just doesn't seem to have the capacity that it did once uppon a time. I've charged the battery maybe a half-dozen times since it's come into my ownership and the display's always said "Lo Batt" or the gun's failed to boot before each charge (The failure to boot was after the interupter plug was left out overnight and I discovered it the next day when I went to pick the E-Mag up and mess around some more with the trigger). The charger is from AGD and was included in the deal along with a car adapter. I have a wall charger adapter from when I owned my Angel (12V @ 1Amp)which I use to charge the gun when I'm at home and charge the gun in the car if I happen to need to charge it on the way to the field and while I'm getting ready. I've always waited to remove the pack from the charger at least 30 minutes after the led turned green to allow for a trickle charge when ever possible.

This issue seems to have sprung up as of late and I'm actually curious what other people's opinions are. I charged the battery as usual on the way to a tournament 2 weeks ago now, just about anyway, and I didn't get a chance to use my Mag in the tournament because my Flatline ate its reg-piston O-Ring and I didn't have the parts to replace it, the time, or the tools to swap it out. The gun is turned off and stuck back in the gear bag for the day. During the week the E-Mag is brought out a couple times to do some shooting in the back-yard and make sure the Flatline's put back together propperly, less than half a case is run through the gun. Sunday (7 days after charging the battery) I arrive at Paranoid Paintball and get in a few games before my E-Mag starts dropping shots in the middle of a game and by the time I'm eliminated it's reading "Lo Batt" and I'm shooting in semi-hybrid mode. When I get home I clean everything and toss the battery on the charger again and I put the battery back on the gun. Let it sit, Today I decided to see how many shots I could get on the battery after having it sit for 2 days and lo-and-behold after turning it on, shooting a few hundred shots like I would in a game, turning it off, and noting the shot counter before and after I started hearing the Solenoid missing shots and finally saying "LO BATT" the difference is 6,198 shots.

Could I just have never noticed this before for some reason or is this an unusually low number of shots to get from a charge?

I'm used to my Angel LCD where I'd charge the battery once and have it be good for months of play.

    ========== Short Version ============

Single Charge ~6200 shots of simulated play from full charge to "Lo Batt"
Discharge of less than 7 Days before "Lo Batt" with minimal usage (Less than 1000 shots)
AGD 1.37 Software - Used E-Mag Lowers that arrived in near mint condition (looked like they'd never even been used).
Charger - AGD NiMH Charger with supplied Car Adapter cable, used with Radio Shack Cigarette Wall adapter (12V @ 1Amp)
Charged as per Havoc Online's method

Is this a normal number of shots or could there be something wrong with my Gun/Battery/Charger?

remember to wiggle the battery charger connection plug to get it to go red again from everytime it goes green and do this for about 2 hours to overnight

Get a volt meter and get a reading from the battery. I forget the EXACT measure, but if it's "fully charged" according to the charger and reads under I think 18v, there's a dead cell inside and the battery is toast.

I certainly hope he's joking too... I don't have a volt meter that I can use here, it'll have to wait a little while before I can test the battery when I get home.

Fully charged the batt should read 20-21V the operating voltage is around 18V.

Then perhaps instead of JIGGLING A WIRE, how about fixing the actual problem? Just because a few knuckleheads do it doesn't make it the CORRECT way to do something.

Well this is shaping up to be a bit more heated than I'd imagined possible, so just out of the purely novel idea of the "Jiggle The Wire" thing, I decided to try it and.... Drum roll please.....

It doesn't do anything, no LED changing from Green to Red, no faries diving into my battery pack, gnomes did not arrive at my house and fix my shoes. So I don't think my Charger is faulty.

I'm going to go out on a limb here and say there's a loose connecion somehwere in your charging system that's giving you these results which can be a bad thing if that connection ever decides to go and get really upset with you.

                            ANYWAY

So I'm reasonably confident that if there is an issue it's laying with the battery pack. I'll have to see if I can bum a multi-meter from someone to confirm or deny this. During the lag time I'd like everyone to settle down and play nice.

Dayspring - Thank you for your input, please don't make refferences to Monty Python in my threads though

AGDLover - Thank you for the sudgestion, if this wiggle trick had worked I could have blamed my charger and that would have also solved the problem though presented me with a more expensive fix. All part of the trouble shooting process, right?

And everyone, if you ever come over to my house.... you can have a cookie or a cold beer if your of age
