    bolt sticking, search broken...

the bolt keeps getting stuck after every third shot or so and it won't reset. i end up having to push it beack about 1 mm to get it to click.

the search is obviously broken so i need some live help. i'm running the largest carrier that doesn't leak (1.5) with 3-4 shims. i don't have any more shims to add. the ult seems ok, but i'm not sure.

    please help.

    thanks.

    1) Do you have any ULT Shims laying around, you can add them to your Level X to see if that doesn't clear up your bolt stick issue.

    2) Is your gun making chrono (270 - 300 fps)?

If you have extra ULT shims laying aroudn you can use them in your Level X (just remember 2 ULT Shims = 1 LX Shim) if your gun is making chrono and you're still gettin the bolt stuck forward. If this doesn't work try going to the next spring up from the one you're using to help with resetting the system.

Continue to monkey around with the Shims/Springs until your gun shoots.

i don't have a chrono readily available and i have been dry-firing it. but it still sticks with the velocity all the way up.
my tank is a preset hp crossfire 68/3000.

i am using the red spring and all of my other shims are in the ult.

i call it bolt stick because i have no other name for it but what i really think is happening is that the on/off pin in the ult isn't moving all the way down after the last shot and so the trigger rod just sit's there limp. but when i push on the bolt i squeeze the air in the dump chamber and it pops the pin back into place and put's pressure on the sear. but even now that i think i know what's wrong i still don't know how to fix it.

Switch to the gold spring and pull all the shims, see if it'll cycle like that.

How many shims are you using in your ULT anyway?

As simple as this sounds, it is a common "bolt stick" fix. Be sure to NOT overtighten the front frame grip screw or the back field strip screw. They will sometimes put a slight torque on the body and cause bolt stick. It's true. and it's an easy fix.
