    big air leak

    And I mean big! it is a RT Pro ULE w/ ULT on a 68/45hpa X-vlv lvl-X

a while ago my brother send his mag into the shop to be tuned for a shooting problem, he got it back and worked fine. after a while it develiped a leak down the barrel, a very very small leak very over lookable. he sold it to me and I play a bunch of games with it and the very very small leak would show up and sometimes not at all.

I can't remember the exact instance it happened and what we were doing or what happened proir, but all of a sudden, one time I air it up and the air just flows out of the barrel, I'd pull the trigger and it would stop. I looked every thing over and nothing was wrong or out of place but it was still there. I changed out the spacer on the lvl-X thinking it was that, no still flows air and I pulled the tri8gger and it dosen't shut off imedatly is hisses down to not flowing. I have not a clue what it is and what its from, I haven't tore it apart yet after replacing the carrier, i think it might have something to do with the ULT but unsure.

I can't seem to find a thred in here about a similar problem so dose any one know something?

If its leaking down the barrel and when you pull the trigger it stops its in your power tube. With level 10 after time the o-ring wears and you need a tighter carrier so it will seal, look at the top of the page for the official level 10 problems thread.

As Asym said, a leak down the barrel is the result of the carrier being too large in the power tip. However, it can also mean that the carrier o-ring has been knicked/damaged and is causing the leak.

When you changed the Carrier, what carrier was installed and what carrier did you replace it with? When you replaced the carrier are all the shims installed in the Level 10 flat or have they been bent?

For the sake of argument - try this.

Take all the shims out of your power tube and set them aside, install the original carrier with the O-Ring you're currently using back into the power tube, do not install the shims, and gas-up. If you're leaking, change to a smaller carrier until the leak stops then try to fire the gun, add shims until the gun fires reliably, if you cannot find a combination of carriers and shims that will let you shoot the gun without it leaking, replace the carrier o-ring with a new one and follow the Level 10 set-up procedure again.
