Shoot down on classic lvl 7

I went out to the field saturday and I could get like 3 balls out before the marker started shooting down horribly, I re adjusted my velocity, but that isnt the problem. I can rip like 3 balls quickly and then it turns to ****

I am not really familiar with the valve, so this is kinda foreign teritory...

ive used this marker in the past with the same tank 68/45 crossfire, with the same microline fittings, with no problems, i might try another tanks, and ebven swaping out the micro for macro but i dont think thats it.

    Was the tank full?

If it was, replace the reg seat- it's the big fat oring in between the valve halves.

Have you oiled the gun lately .... dry O rings can cause some of the darnedest problems.

also replacing the micro line with macro might allow the marker to breath better.

Are you using the same ASA on the gun as you used before? If it is pressing the pin in too far on the bottle valve, it will starve the gun for air.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

old old level 7's had problems with the on/off's being restrictive and the gun shooting down ... only I remember it happening during longer strings. They did upgrade the on/off's around 1997 (c:

The gun worked before so it obviously the valve doesn't normally have a shootdown problem.

Its the 3 balls shot before the shootdown happens, that leads me to believe it is an air supply problem. Most guns hold about that much air in the air lines.

i had some shootdown when i first stated using comp air, i just turned the tank another quarter turn and it solved the problem, can you screw a tank in to far?

I agree with what everyone else said, but it might also be a good idea to tear the reg apart, clean it and replace the piston oring. But like Dayspring said, replace the reg seat, and as AThomas said, check your tank.
