Stupid Question, but what the heck...

ok...all you high tech minded fellas out there, here's my question:

to overcome the hard trigger pull of the mag (3 lbs as i've been told) what would be the downside to adding some sort of spring to push say, 2 1/2 lbs against the sear to begins with, thus leaving only a 1/2 lb trigger pull as a balance? my guess would be maybe this spring would interfere with the sear resetting??

I know, I can get the pull down to around 1 lb by adding the ULT kit, but I'm talkin about a stock classic valve...

any help would be greatly appreciated...

as I said, it's probably a stupid question, but it's late, and I've had a few beers before writing this so please bear with me.

im guessing if agd had thought that adding a spring behind the trigger would be beneficial they prolly would have done it. but thats purely my speculation and im not super knowledgeable in this field. I would just throw the on/off valve upgrade in and see how it goes. I had read the info on it from the agd site and i know it recommended using the ult upgrade hand in hand with the lvl 10 stuff...but i nowhere saw it say you shouldnt/it wont work with classic valve.

"The ULE Trigger Pull Kit is best utilized in an AGD marker powered by a valve based on our Reactive Trigger technology. The ULT is a drop in upgrade for the X-Valve and the newer RT Pros (those equipped with an all black valve). The ULT is compatible with Automags, MiniMags, E-Mags, or X-Mags. However, installation and use of the ULT with these markers is not recommended. To achieve maximum trigger lightness, it is recommended that the ULT be used in conjunction with a Lvl 10."

Anyhow, i might have missed something so, mebbe do a lil homework or send an email askin agd about it would be best.

seems to me adding a spring to help you pull will choke you marker, causing helliacious shoot down as the on/off valve will not be able to open properly, and the sear would not be able to reset quickly and properly causeing for longer cyceling times.

One way to drop the trigger pull a bit and increase performance overall is add a level 10 kit, the level 10 bolt has a smaller contact surface with the bolt, giving it a symilar feel as an old trigger mod that tourny players once did, but by far the best way is to get a retro valve and ult! that will give you a nice smooth lite pull and gobs more performance!
Tom was the last of a now extinct breed, a breed of players who build a community, a breed of owners who gave to the sport never taking more than what they deserved. I hope to see you at the feild again some day....

technically it's not to help me pull, it's to lessen the pull enough for the sear i'm using to actuate it, but same difference i suppose...

I just use an RT on/off valve with a .75 pin in my mag it lightens the pull and works pretty well
