    first gasing up

right, i've just got one if those 4oz disposable tanks so i can fire it for a bit before i buy my air sytem and im just gonna give my new pro classic a quick dry firing. Is there anything i should be aware of e.g. leaks and such? ive disasembled my gun a few times but not played around with stuff like the velocity and orings inside the valve, im alittle be anxious as from what ive seen on here theres been alot of people with first time problems e.g bolt stick and such

so any help on what i should look out for an do would be great as im playing next weekend and i want to get it awesome

    cheers

if you have split the reg (unscrewed it between the serial numbers) you should replace the reg seat in there. When the gun is gassed up with a new reg seat it puts a grove on the seat, and it seals along that grove. Once you split the halves the seat can move, and once gassed up again you get 2 groves on the seat. Sometimes this makes the marker leak, but more commonly it allows air to slowly leak past the reg seat, which gives you incosistant velocity and by extension a less accurate marker.

as for bolt stick and whatnot, its hard to say without putting gas to the marker and seeing, sometimes things just need to be adjusted or o-rings are old and need to be changed. I would make sure there is an extra tank you can borrow your first time because there may be a problem that no one can know about without putting air to the marker, so you might need more air than your 4 ounce can provide. In paintball always, always, always plan for the worst and hope for the best!

ok thanks for that but im a bit worried about the reg bit you were going on about. All ive done is unscrewed it (on classic valve unscrews bewtween the t in 68 automag) not fiddled aroind or anything. But yea im a bit worried as i got to get it working before next weekend and my 4 oz tank is coming on tuesday :S so should it be alrite though as ive screwed it back up so the automag is straight and aligned? Is the leak going to bad? or could there be a chance im just worring about nothing and work fine?

i used to take my classic valve apart into two halves and oil the reg seat, and it always worked fine. i guess i was lucky. but when i first read about spliting the halves and needing to replace that seal, i did. other than that, when you gas up your mag, hold down the trigger while you screw the tank in, and when its gassed up, let the trigger snap forward.
