    Old player and old marker

I haveowned a 68 classic since 97 and had built it up when tourney's where starting to pick up. ever since then I left the world of paintball and now I am wishing to enter back into the sport and was wondering if or any links to where to pick up parts/upgrades for this old marker plus if there is a service center that I can send the valve in to have it looked over from wear and tear tolerences are in check. I know I would probably needs new seals (its been sitting since 02) and I need a n2 tank for it my old failed the test. any info or direction will be greatly appercitated

you could try the automag website ....... www.airgun.com , also you can search ebay alot of proshops have ebay shops which will give you links back to their main shop. Or you post again on AO with attention to Tunaman he is a highly respected techinician of mags that frequents these boards.

Buy some e-mag lowers and an x-valve and you wil be rockin :)

Granted that will cost you like $600 (new...)

But then you'd be able to compete at a high level at least.

If your only gonna be doing rec-ball, just get an x-valve and an intelliframe.

But seriously? Just get an automag repair kit. Replace all the O-rings and this time lube it with 20wt silicon RC car shock absorber oil. Then go have fun. I spose you could get a level 10 bolt kit and an intelliframe if you don't already have them. I would be shocked if your N2 tank didn't pass hydro. There's a place in Bremerton that can turn your bottle around for you in less than 2 weeks (the addy is floating around here somewhere). Unless you are planning on running right out and starting a tournament team you won't really need much else. Hope that's not too much of a buzz kill.

I think that your best bet is to get a parts kit, and instead of replacing everything, just get your new Air tank and air it up. If it leaks from X then replace X,...It it leaks from Xx then replace X and x....Etc..Because most of the o-rings should still be good (unless you left it in horrible condition)

I know the tank is trashed cause they showed me the "chunks" of material from inside of it and the mfg. date is I believe 93 or 94. It was from just old age that brought it down. Yeah a repair kit would be nice And I know I got to replace the rings cause they where pretty britile, but the one thing that I don't want to is turn it electronic I come from the era of pneumatic's only started playing in 88 with a pgp 68 stock class gun ( which is a nice piece of history cause I still got it and looks like it came right out of the box). what about barrel sets is DYe boomstick's with with the different bore's still top dog? I've been looking around the internet and been wonder about ALOT of things on this marker and what should upgrade or not here the list for what is on it.
            1.Barrel- Stainless steel DYE
            2.Trigger Group - Benchmark 45 double trigger
3.some off the wall vertical gas thru grip
            4.Powerfeed to the right
            5.12vt revelution hopper
6.Macro line with quick disconnect fittings
            7.everything else is stock
total weight fully loaded and old tank one it = 9lbs 4oz

I had it stored in a Real gun safe with the rest of my firearms but when I was a away for a couple of years someone took it out and put in a box in the basement and left it sit for along time. Another sad thing is that the basement flooded about 2 yrs ago and sumerged. And no one cleaned it or reoil anything. rust isn't to bad mostly surface rust it looks like and cobwebs

i have an older 68 mag classic and only thing i guess i would do is make sure i got 2 parts kits...one to replace the old stuff and one as a spare...and what i really wanna do is buy the x-valve (which has lvl 10 bolt) and the on/off assembly upgrade to lighten up the trigger and gain a little speed.

That SS DYE barrel is probably fine unless you want something like a freak system or one of the many new systems that allow you to match the bore of the paintball "exactly". The other consideration is that the barrel is probably pretty heavy and you might with to go with something made of a lighter material ie. aluminium. Other than a parts kit and perhaps a level 10 kit your probably good to go

If you really plan on getting back into the sport and want to upgrade some then i would suggest the following first:
                  www.themagsmith.com

tunaman -( his website is down so just send him a pm here or something)

the classifieds section here- (mainly misc. and dealers)

hope that helps and welcome back
