Norgren Macro fittings rates only to 780PSI?

I found some norgren macroline fittings. 1/4" OD tubing, 1/8" NPT. They look identical to the ones I've used for years, and are swivel fittings.

Something I found that was a bit disturbing (well, more puzzling as I've never heard of this actually being dangerous) is that the working pressure is only 260PSI. Using the usual pneumatic 1:3 working:burst pressure ratio, Thats only 780PSI burst pressure.

What I want to know is if that is the actual burst pressure, or if I'm looking at the wrong fittings.

That very well may be the rating, but I have tested them a few times and they usually let go around 1000. Try to stay away from the 1000 mark with ANY line that is so close to ones face. This paintball stuff is supposed to be fun right?

I'm also having trouble in finding adequate macroline fittings here in Portugal, since there are only about 5 or six mags on our circuit and of those only mine is a mechanical one, i usually play with almost 1000psi output. Now it has been some time since I own this, and the macroline tube is getting a pretty deep groove where it fits the elbows, so i'm getting worried about the stability of this thing. And lately it has become my main concern, I don't want this thing to burst on my hands when I turn on the air on the regulator.

I've seen Palmer-pursuit site. And I need a new set of elbows/tubing like those they have, but they don't answer my emails...

I'd appreciate if any of you could post contacts of other sellers/distributors. I find a lot of them through google, but never with parts rated above 250/300 psi, I needed something like 800 at least, or as in Palmers website, even 3000 psi.

I also have the non-swivel fittings. They have less parts to blow apart and kill you so use them over the swivels when going higher pressure. Probably a little safer...

i tested the output on my tank, and its between 850 and 900. i use swivel macro fittings. what are the chances that they will blow up on me? i dont want to have metal buried in my hand with a plastic tube flailing about whipping me.

With any line? Did you mean fitting? These are the same onees you sell (I belive).. I'm not worried about macro blowing up in my hand.. I'm a man, I can take a little bit of pain and some bleeding (I was inspired by how manly you were when you handled that burst at AONE7  ).... But nickle fragments with 800 pounds of pressure behind em... no thanks.

              UPDATE:

I tried sending another email earlier today to palmers and they answered me, so they're in business.

So Alpha, the best advice I can give you is to be as safest as possible, and get some of those 1500psi or even 3000 psi at palmers(link in my previous post, they're at the middle of the page), the macroline is rated below 800 (i guess its 650), but our main concern here is the hardest parts, they go about $4 each, and that should set aside the concern we may have when using higher pressures.
