    Automikey is completely correct.

I don't believe in anything SpecialOps says, but if your that dead set on setting up some sort of "sniper", then you'll want a CCM Barrel Kit. I have one on a DM5 and it is fairly quiet. Anyone that has been playing paintball for a while can hear it fire but most people take a second to figure out where it's coming from. The Tac-One is also a good choice just for reliability reasons. Mags are not the quietest or most efficient guns, but you can get them dirty. Even though you can mount a 5n1pz0r scope on the Tac, don't. It just makes your gun larger. If you can't aim down the barrel of your gun and predict where it is going to land you need practice.

Ya know. I just like the hopper. Nut all that other stuff. People will play the way they play if its ghillie vs ghillie then let it take all day(stealth does take time after all). If itll float someones boat rock on. I could even enjoy the stalking exercise.

Automike and whinnymag, Im all about what you all have said. Those are some of the same tactics that I use(or try to use ). I liked how that thing had a 36 round hopper/clip doodad that went right along the barrel. Its compatible with Tac and ULE bodys. Im in love.

      wait im regurgitating hopper nonsense...

I just don't like the idea of needing an 18" barrel just to match the length...

Actualy it only holds 21 balls. If you like that style, check out "Stock Class" paintball, everyone is limited to that style hopper and most people either have 10 round or 15 round tubes. White Wolf Airsmithing can also install those tubes onto a ULE body.

Here's the "sniper" setup I'd want:

            ULE Body
            Xvalve w/ lvl 10
            am/mm rail
            single trigger frame
            14" carbon fiber barrel
            remote
            hpa tank
            gas-thru stock
            40rd hopper
barrel shroud / foregrip / handgaurd
            My Feedback

Reloading it looks like a pain. I'm not a big fan of the spring loaded magazine. Reloading a simple stock class "rock n' cock" feed tube is quick and easy. So is refilling a 40 round hopper.

It seems like a spring that size would break high-quality, tournament grade paint... especially when you're loading it, and it's getting full.

Im sorry I am pretty green in this field. I just like the idea of a low profile hopper that dosent protrude out too much. I had no idea that stock class used hoppers like that. nifty.

As for the spring. Reloading it would be a pain but you could probibly carry extra clips instead.

I dont know. Im still learning whats what.

There's a lot of gear out there that looks good and sells well, but that's not really as functional for paintball as the manufacturers would have you believe.

I hope this doesnt get me sanctioned , but back in the day the Sniper 2 was a very quiet pump that could really throw some paint if you decide to go away from the mag concept. Also if you pretty handy with tools putting a homemade "muffler" on the end of a barrel can make a huge difference in sound levels especially if you dont have ported barrel. I used to have one on my Bushmaster back in the late 80's (mine was the long barreled version of the nelspot 007, even before Line SI started making them) only problem was the thing was 4 feet long.

where mighyt I acquire a 40 round hopper? I'm thinking of doin a woods gun myself based on a tac-one and would like to avoid using a huge hopper like my halo on top..

I'm actually considering canning that and doin an A-5 though with a Tac-Cap.

I don't know how much experience you have with ghillie suits, but the type you linked to tend to snag like crazy. This isn't too much or a problem when you're moving slowly but it can be a PITA when you got to get up and boogie.

Also, many fields don't allow ghillie suits. They can cover a hit.

The best paintball "snipers" I know are just guys who are slow and methodical and get down on their bellies and crawl around.

                              Better idea...?

                              What about a dorito ghillie?

True enough though. Slow moves the wookie when your covered in twenty pounds of burlap. And it HOT. And hard to pee. But your tush would be one with the jungle. If thats the game rock. I like diversity. The more ideas the better eh?

                                No Snipers

Sniping in paintball is perfectly a chivable it has some simple rules
                                1. know your marker find a great barrel that shots concistant groups at 50 yards and 75 yards with all different types of paint
2 ghillies are not needed, but camo and knowledge of the human eye is, hunters are eceptional at this because animals have the ups on humans as far as sight goes. learn to move with the wind and develop an understanding of nature.
3 low profile is a good thing buy the smallest hopper you can find then by a stock class tube harness from phantom only buy one that is like a regular pod hauler because your gonna be on your belly alot [personal experence]
                                4. being quiet with the stock harness adjust it to be tight but comfortable a lose harness till rattle around and for a sniper this may give away your position. a quiet barrel is nessacary [on my tippy i use a progressive, quiet and accurate all in one, and its up for sale so somebody buy it!!]
                                5. pain is mental block it out!! as a sniper you will go where no men normally go to get the 1up on them so you will be set up in uncofortable places, you will get cold and wet, and you will itch and get bug bits but the honor of saving your teams @$$ and marking out more players than anyone in a day will far outweigh it
