    Cleaning a classic valve

I need to clean my classic....the bolt seems to stick sometimes so I gotta wipe all that stuff down and re-oil it.....I have never taken my valve apart and am a little afraid to do so. I think I screw off the regulator part, but is there anything I should watch out for? Like loose parts and stuff?

Thanks. One question though....I have a lvl 10, and when I slide it back and forth, and seems to be a little stuck, there seems to be a little bit of friction. At first I thought it was the bolt sticking to the o-ring carrier spacer thing but it turns out thats not the case, it just has a lot of friction. I'm not sure if this has been causing any of the problems I have been having or not. Anyways I cleaned it all off and re-oiled it, any ideas on why there is friction, or should it be like that? It's not to much but it's my first mag so I aint sure.

You may need to increase your carrier size by 0.5. Make sure you remove the shims to make sure it doesn't leak due the shims. If it leaks, then you may need to change carrier orings. The bolt should slide smoothly with just a tiny bit of friction, but it shouldn't stick.

You only need to take the front brass piece off the powertube of the valve to make carrier changes. You don't need to take the valve apart anywhere else.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
