It'll cost you $18 and not do anything for you. Stay with the stock AGD part. Perhaps unless you have a really old Mag.
8-hole mods USED to be helpful for mags, at least with the older ones, where the holes between the two valve halves wouldn't line up all the time. That's been fixed now. -

When you say "old valve;" how old is old? My Minimag is
4 1/2 years old--does this qualify it as benefitting from an 8-hole mod?

Phazeshifter, my 68 mag is roghly 6 years old and it lined up fine. i baught one of these when i screwed up the stock reg back. it didnt help me at all.Sorry for the spelling. Im still working on it.Comment

My mag is only about a year old, and i have an 8-Hole, it doesn't do that much performance wise, however, i have found that it quiets it down a LOT, with paint in your barrel, my gun is about as quiet as a higly upgraded cocker, or a very low pressure gun like a shocker. it was worth it to me.MAG FOR SALE!!!

The automag design makes this presumption impossible. The 8 hole mod has to do with the reg body. Which has nothing to do with the sound signature of the gun.

They actually did make several titanium valves. The differance between them and the SS ones was so slight that they somehow got mixed up, and sent out with the SS ones. A few people out there have titanium regs.
The 8-hole does NOTHING!! There have been several incidents where the 8-hole ruined the threading on the front half of the valve. The holes there, are not the cause of shootdown.
Next time you have your reg halves apart, drop the little pin deal thats between the two regs through the reg seat. Take a look at how much of a gap there is. That is where the air has to pass through before it gets to those holes.
Thats the equivlent of using a 1in water pipe, and haveing it run into a 4in. Useless.
