It is possible. I had a vid somewhere of someone showing his working properly. Search for it. Its possible, it just short strokes a good bit if your not careful.

I threw my ULT into my classic valve recently. The pull was very light and walkable. But shortstoking defeated the goodness. Walking would result in pure short-stroking, and even just pulling the trigger fast would. I assume because of no reactivity, I also experinced the sear not fully reseting because of this.

That's because of the 2/3s force reduction.

On a RT valve, it reduces the force of 800+psi by 2/3s.

On a classic valve, it reduces the force of 450psi by 2/3s.

I got it working on my classic but I also was using some smaller quad o-rings I picked up because of issues with it sometimes sticking. Earlier this year I played with it and I would shortstroke all the time, but this was also helped because I was using a benchmark frame and the longer pull from the frame increased the shortstroking. I never got around to testing the sear mod of moving the trigger rod up which shortens the pull and gives it a slight increase in pull weight, thought this might help balance it out.
I'm now using the ULT in the classic with a electronic frame and it works perfect, haven't had an issue yet and I went back to the standard ULT o-ring. I still want to do some testing to see if that quad helps with the recharge over the standard o-ring but it hasn't been an issue so I haven't gotten around to it.

also for alot less headache in set up you could put a RT on/off in the classic valve .... it lightens the pull and no shims to deal with.

Would then gutting the Classic Valve, and replacing it with a high recharging regulator of 800psi, then putting in the ULT kit rid the problem of shortstroking?

Like you do with the regular regulator, regulate the pressure. If the pressure is too high, decrease pressure. Vica versa.

It's got me really thinking, I've got all the parts to do it, and I can always borrow a regulator from a friend. If I managed to get it to work, It will save me a whole bunch of cash instead of getting an Xvalve.

Just go on EBay and get yourself an RT Pro valve.. unless youre doing upwards of 10 or 15 bps, should work just fine.

Besides, in my opinion with which many disagree, if you need to shoot more than 15 bps, you probably could use a little time in the practice range for your aim.

It's called Suppresive fire. Faster I shoot, the less you'll want to move or if you're brave enough to run, the better chance that I have to hit you.

Aim does have something to do with it, but speed is also VERY important.

15 bps is probably enough, but having a high bps rate is handy in some places. For example alot of times in a scenario game you may find yourself out numbered 2 to 1 or even worse. You may be by yourself facing 20 other guys. Having a high rate of fire comes in handy at those times.
