Hey i got a minimag. standard old valve ( before stars in effect ) and standard bolt. I noticed lately that i chop ocassionally but mostly i seem to explode pain in the barrel like my bolt goes forward and hits the paint too hard and as a result the paint gets ****ed up. do the standard bolts seem to do this? think i should get one of those foamie bolts or perhaps a level 10 kit for it. all i wanna do is destroy less paint. the level 10 has a foamie on it to have less of this i think. I have a Halo B hopper on it as well as compressed air. dont really wanna spend the tons of cash on the x valve. i can shoot fast enough as is.
my minimag smash'spaint but good.

it could be that the bolt is knicking the bottom of the next ball in the stack creating a crack in it which will cause it to explode in the barrel.. you can take the edge off of the bolt with some sand paper...heres a link to that thread with instructions on how to do it..

heres the picture, left is before..right is how it should look when done..

wondering if maybe your bolt spring is worn out and letting the bolt go too far forward and not returning it fast enough. when you look at the bolt with the spring on it, the spring should extend past the end of the bolt a lil ways...if the spring is worn out and compressed slightly it might only come to the end of the bolt or so...it would need to be replaced. other options to really solve any chop problems would be to get lvl10 or the xvalve (comes with lvl 10).

.edit. have you checked yer velocity recently....possible if its an older gun that hasnt been tuned up lately that maybe its running hot and blowin yer paint up in the barrel.Comment

I figured out one of my problems. short sroking so a ball gets pushed a tiny bit down barrel and then bolt resets and next shot blows first shot ( still in barrel ) up. but there is paint all over my bolt which would not explain that really. unless when the two balls hit eachother in the barrel the instantly exploded seding paint backwards and all over bolt. note to self dont short stroke i guess.Comment
