Automag newbie here - leaking air down barrel

I just bought a used Automag Classic on ebay - The seller mentioned in the auction that it's leaking air down the barrel which appears to be the case.

I've been doing some reading through the forums here & it seems to me like the most likely cause of the problem is either o-rings or the mainspring needs replacing.

Is there anything else I should look at?

Can't wsit to open this baby up (both literally and on my friends!! :)

More than likely it is the power tube oring or the power tube spacer. The oring is included in the automag parts kit. The spacer will have to be ordered and it looks like thishttp://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?ac...&categoryID=16

When you pull and hold the trigger, does the leak stop? If so its the post above.

I just took everything appart & replaced all the o-ring & it's fine no leaks.
Unfortunately I used up the last of my air (only got about ten shots) still it works :) .
Now I need to get a new fill & some paint & adust it over a chrono.

The on-off seems to be a bit stiff but I assume as the o-rings break in it will loosen up.

I'm going to this from a Spyder - what a difference - a lot less recoil, a better more solid feel & the insides are much more complicated, I can see what you pay for, it's like opening up a watch.

One interesting thing I noticed, it's actually an Autimag (yeah I spelled that right)! It's got a Minimag reg body on it. For an impulse purchase on ebay that I got for a song I can't say I care - gives it some character.

Anyway - thanks for the help everyone.

I would just like to say thanks for the help on this.
I just got to use my 'Mag for the 1st time yesterday & it worked flawlessly despite being used in conditions that should have caused probs - about 10deg Celsius w/CO2 & quite a bit of heavy firing.
I think my Spyder would have had trouble recocking & been burping all day.
          I'm happy!
