Please Help Me ( pics included )

Hey i got compressed air on my Minimag ( classic valve ) replacing hose that goes into the valve with a new hose and i notice it has a metal filter thing on it. Is this thing only important to use if using CO2? Can i just remove it if im running on compressed air? cuase the new hose i got has no threading for this little gold filter tihng. i have included pics of the filter piece it came from the incoming side of the quick release by the valve. thanks for any help guys.

hmm never seen one of them in a while.

im not possitve but i think they are for co2 soo no crap gets in the valve.

if you have N2 going into the valve you dont need it

It is used to keep dirt out of the valve. I have never had a problem with dirt even using CO2. I wouldn't bother with it.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.
