68 AutoMag Classic. - what I need to get it up and running?

Ok guys I need your help.

I've had this Marker about 4 years but never got it working due to unexplianed circumstances.
Apparantly when i bought it my mate tested it and said It fired perfectly, i've never had air in it.

I do believe its Air system, its has a Unireg Regulator I believe, which is looking rather scratched and worn.

I know I need a bottle, but what kind and how, i'm so confused. Should there be anything I need to check (all the o rings are fully intact) before I test fire this thing as well.

Any cheap UK suppliers of bottles would be good too :)

Oh and the regulator has 2 screw slots, one i prejume is for a pipe from bottle but whats the other one.. pressure reading?

ok by looking at the picture you should be able to get it running fine. First i heard that you should not ( double reg) your gun . Becuase auotmag have a built in regulator in the valve you do not need/want that regulator on the front in your ertical asa. if you take that off and want to use CO2 then you could put a vertical tank on directly from your vertical ASA. If you like the back bottle idea then you need to install a ASA on bottom of handle or a Drop forward if you like those. Now HPA is best recomended for automags cause the CO2 really freezes up and messes up the o-rings in the gun. the difference in cost is like 250 for a new HPA or 30 for a co2 tank. However HPA is well worth is compared to CO2.

if you run Co2 on a bottom feed or drop forward then you wanan get it antisyphoned to the paticular ASA. you dont have to do this on HPA or N2.

I'll definatly go with HSA system as I worked with CO2 for a while as a marshall and I hate the stuff. I;m bit worried about pressures of the tank and stuff. I found nicely priced one here

Would you know if that will work well? With it i'd get a macro line and a couple of elbows with a drop forward. Do i need some kind of valve to fill it?

Anyhting I missed. This mounts up quickly doesn't it.

yes this will screw directly to the ASA adapter and work like a CO2 bottle would if you dont have a ASA adapter you could temporaily take off the regulator on the gun and screw the bottle on vertically. Youl wil also need some macro line or steel braided hose to run from the ASA to the open port on the regulator (with the necessary fittings). If you have a pro shop nearby it might be easier to go there with the marker and buy the necessary parts and have them install them and give your marker the once over.

all the air stuff is very easy to set up. all ya really need is a couple of wrenchs, an asa that attaches to your gun somewhere and an air line.



that is a pic of my guns air setup very simple air line goes from the quick-disconnect directly down to the Dropforward. 1 elbow one air line. the foregrip on the front i made out of alunimium. you got a weird metal line going from your valve to your vertical feed. with this setup you could run a ( gas though grip) on your vertical ASA which will act as a foregrip and then connect a hose from the gas though grip to the drop forward. Its personal preference i think. you could also do what i did and take off the hose at the valve and run a direct line down to your dropfoward like i did there fore reducing the weight of all the junk at the front. its also good to have a quick disconnect so you can take off the valve assemble with ease. when putting on air hose lines you should use ( teflon tape ) to make a proper seal. The tank thaat you are looking at is a steel HPA tank which is better then CO2 but the tank is heavyer then the more expensive ( fiber wrapped tanks). Make sure ya get all the measurements right on how long ya want the hose and get the right size otherwise you will have too much so it will be hose everywehre or not enough and not be able to hook it up.

about filling up a HPA tank there is a nipple on the side of the tank that hooks up to a larger tank to fill it. If you are going to get it filled by soemwone elts ( proshop or field ) then all you need is the tank.
