    Help with AGD Sydarm

    I bought a 'new' Sydarm from Specialopspaintball.com.

Out of the box, it will fire two shots, and then jam.

I have tried adjusting the velocity, and have gone through the entire manual and followed all troubleshooting instructions, have oiled the marker, etc.

    What's wrong with my marker?

I dont think they have a certified AGD Tech there so dont risk it. Just send it back to AGD as it is under warranty.

The only reason I would send it back to Special Ops is as a return. But, they'll only give back store credit. They're a little crooked over there.

I'm extremely upset that my brand new marker came broken. Should I expect severe problems like this in the future?

Getting a broken marker out of the box from AGD is VERY rare, but as in any other business it does happen. The Sydarm was only produced to be a limited use training pistol. It does have some very intricate workings compared to other markers in this class. There are only a few guys that are capable of fixing them correctly. DON'T let anyone work on it but AGD or an AGD Tech or I can almost guarantee it will stay broken for a long time. I would be more than happy to take a look at it for you. Send it here or to AGD... or KayleAGD, or BlackVCG, or RobAGD.

Ok, great. How do I get set up to do so?

My sydarm needs copious amounts of lube before I use it...

a couple in the ASA, a couple in the on/off assembly, a couple down the powertube for good measure...

            otherwise it isn't happy.

Well, I might as well try it out on the field before I actually send it in.

I'll post an update here after I do.

I was just very surprised to have it stick like that. I have to shake the marker to get the pin behind the trigger to pop back out. Loosening then tightening the CO2 cap sometimes helps too.

Should I limit the speed I'm firing at? I understand these pistols have problems with CO2 freeze, but I didn't expect anything this drastic.

              Thanks for the replies.

Depending on how your firing, you may want to slow it down. After all, you only have 8 shots till you have to reload. So it's a differant game style your playing when your sporting a Sydarm. As with any Mag, liquid CO2 is bad. I'm not saying you can't shoot fast with it, but if your try to fire at a 16bps rate you have the wrong marker in your hand for that. Maybe a couple of quick shots but even if it goes liquid, you wouldn't really stick.

If loosening and tightening the CO2 knob helps, You may want to make sure the CO2 is being pierced properly. Could be lack of CO2. Not sure how to fix that, maybe a cotton ball or 2 inside the CO2 hole just to confirm this as a solution. If that's it, send to AGD or any one of Tunamans suggestions. I hear Tuna is the Man - Never had to use him myself, but I would if I needed to.

I myself have 4 sydarms (sorta got carried away) They all work great. Best paintball pistol to date.

Sounds like the powertube spacer is too short. Try going to a longer spacer. A .225 is usually what you should use.
