Removing lvl X carrier

Whats the best way to remove the carrier from the power tube w/o damaging it...? I cant seem to pop it out, and cant think of any way to pull it out without marring the brass...any help would be appreciated...(its in there pretty good)

Thread the field strip screw in and pull
