    Lvl 7 + eyes v. lvl 10 + eyes

Ok, I want to switch to lvl 7 after I get my bb eyes installed on my arachnamag so I can get some more efficiency out of my gas ho... errr mag. The increased cycling speed and elimination of the need to re-tune it would also be nice.

I've heard some different stories though.

The Anti-ACE people have said that even though eyes will prevent chops, you could still get "down the barrel" breaks because the lvl 7 hits the ball faster. Now, this sounds like a load of malarky to me. The lvl 10 moves slower INITIALLY, but then it speeds up. When they come in contact with the ball, don't they both move at the same speed?

I've also heard from hardcore ACE supporters, that Lvl 7 foamie is actually softer on paint, it just obviously won't stop on a misfed ball like lvl 10.

Now I'd like to hear from people who actually are using lvl 7 and eyes. How have your results been so far and how many cases have you put through your mag?

    Thanks,
    Pete

I will let you know monday on this, I will be testing my dragun-mag with BB eyes for the first time tomorrow. I took the level 10 out of my xvalve and put my level 7 bolt back in it, I dont think there will be anything wrong with a level 7 and BB eyes.

I can tell you for a fact that L10 will not prevent down the barrel breaks--therefore, it must not hit the paint softer than the Square Bolt*; as you stated.
I put 500 rounds through my gun today just tuning it and I must've had at least 15 barrel breaks, maybe more. Of course, I was using crappy BE paint that I got off of the bargin shelf from Wally World... that may have had something to do with it...

I'm running just a straight mech X Valve/L10 combo. I'm thinking about switching back to my Square just for the extra bit of efficiency though. I don't have a problem short-stroking, so I don't really feel the need for the L10.

*Square Bolt: referring to the Level 7 bolt, or L7. L7 is also another way to say "square" due to the shape the characters appear to form.
So, henceforth, I shall refer to the L7 bolt as the Square Bolt, or Square.
If you don't like it...you can bite me.

Only chops I've had with my Level 7 Minimag were when I was messing around after games. Like turning the marker upside down to get the paint in the Warp hose into the breech, but only half loading it.

You don't have rabies, do you? That would suck. Unfortunately, if I tell you where I live, I'll have to kill a small town full of closed-minded hicks.

Then again, maybe I should tell you...

yes I do have a tboard, I had major problems this weekend with mine, as people on here pointed out, I had drilled my eyes to high. As long as I shoot slow and my gun didnt act up, I didnt have any problems. When I shot fast and at the end of the day it was doing a weird 3-5 round burst, it would chop a ball in half (the eyes are in the middle of the body), and the shell would get stock on the bolt and keep it from cocking back. The eyes them selves worked fine though, and if they was as low as they could go, they would have worked great!
