Velocity fluctuations

OK when I first chrony my mag at the start of the day and go out to play after I put about 30 shots through it the velocity drops right off. I am talking like 40 fps and stays there. I re-chrony and it appears to remain constant for the rest of the day. I have to try to remember to check the next time I play to see if after I re-chrony the velocity jumps up and stays high. Even nwhen I am chronying the velocity is jumping between 10 to 30 fps.

I have changed the reg seat. I thought it might be something to do with the reg valve. I run a 45/3000psi tank. Any suggestions as to what I could check? Its sort of embrassing to take my mag to the chrony and get fluctuations of

Maybe something is wrong with your reg springs.

Sounds like a bad reg seat, but you already tried that. Maybie you got a bad replacement seat. Other than that, the only thing I can think of is the spring pack.

by reg spring you mean the little spring that the pin sits in? I have been having trouble with that one in the sense that it will not come out the hole that it sits in. I have tried everything to get it out. Would that have anything to do with my freaky velocity?

Actually my spring does not come out on my classic valve either and I have no velocity problems.

The spring you mentioned that holds the reg pin in place is designed to do just that, hold the reg pin in place. It has no other function and would not affect the velocity in any way. I would recommend that you disassemble the regulator, thouroughly clean all the parts, lube up all the surfaces with good quality paintgun oil, reassemble, and see what happens. When you do this you will need to install a new reg seat and I would replace the regulator piston o-ring. Anytime you remove the back part of the regulator from the rest of the air-valve you should replace the reg-seat anyway or you can get velocity fluctuations because the reg-seat will not line up exactly where it was and you will get multiple indentations in the reg-seat causing it not to seal as effectively. If this doesn't correct your problem it could be the spring pack as others suggested or it could even be the reg piston itself. At this point, if you have "Stars" left on your valve, I would contact AGD to get an RMA to have them fix it for free.
