Does anyone use mags...or knows of a field that has run; mags as a rental gun for the punters. What was the set-up (ie: lvl 7 bolt...how much did they chop? lvl 10 bolt...how was the wearing in period???) Any pro's or cons...i know maintainence isn't an issue, but what about the pro's and con's over the usual tippy 98's??? and do classic valves experience any problems???

my home field has mags as their "high end" rentals. you get a classic mag w/ level 7 bolt and a VA adapter. I tihnk that if you ask them and pay a few more bucks then you can get an expansion chamber and duckbill put on (not sure though). The only thing that i see wrong with this is that they use CO2 on them which causes them to freeze up some.Comment

blowbacks being gentler on paint than blow forwards (read 'mags')Originally posted by matt-othe first mag i owned had "RENTAL" scratched into the valve and body. so i assume they were fairly widespread as rentals back in the early '90's before reliable blowbacks.
and as i only have lvl 10 on mine...how are the chops going to be with lvl 7, espescially with rental paintComment

Paintball Fun in southern Indiana (just 15 minutes from Louisville) used mags as rentals for a while. (Of course they also used Stingrays and now they are using some blowback.) They were great for rentals as far as durability, but with the exception they were only using CO2 back when they rented them. They still have a lot of mags, and they are still selling them off a few at a time, but I think they will still rent them if someone asks for one. All were setup with bottom line and LVL7. There are instances of chopping paint, but none were blenders by any means.Comment

in the winter they are horrible though.Originally posted by MerFox paintball in Millington Illinios uses them. Very "bullet proof" guns. Not many problems from what I've seen.

last time i played a game with ppl using rentals my lvlX mag looked like an entirely different gun. They were chopping like crazy, causing the gun to malfunction.Comment
