    Automag newbie needs help!!!

    Sup doods!

I just got my hands on an Automag rt pro...I've been told it has a level 10 in it.
I know you must have some basic FAQ for troubleshooting and all...can anyone point me in the right direction>?
I'm completely new to automags...been using a phantom.

The problem I'm encountering is there seems to be a leak or blown seal...
when i turn the gas on I hear a pop and then gas starts to leak out of the back of the gun..through that little hole (by the valve?)

    Any suggestions???

if you cant find it here

WELL YOU CAME TO THE RIGHT PLACE FOR HELP. I DONT HAVE AN RT VALVE, MINE IS A CLASSIC. BUT THEY ARE KINDA THE SAME. IF YOUR MAG IS LEAKING FROM THE REAR IT COULD BE A COUPLE OF DIFF THINGS.

    1. DIRTY OR OLD O-RINGS
    2. VELOCITY IS TO HIGH CAUSEING THE MARKER TO VENT OFF EXCESS PRESURE
    3. THIS ONE IS LESS LIKELY BUT YOUR INPUT PREASURE COULD BE TOO HIGH

SAFETY! DEGASS THE MARKER AND REMOVE PAINT.
THEN REMOVE THE VELOCITY ADJUSTER AND CHECK THE O-RING FOR THE USUAL SIGNS OF WARE. BE CAREFULL NOT TO LOSE ANY OF THE PARTS THAT ARE THERE. THERE ARE TWO O-RINGS THE ONE THAT COULD BE THE PROB IS ON THE PISTON.

IF IT IS NOT WORN OUT OR DIRTY CLEAN AND RELUBE. THEN PUT IT BACK TOGETHER.

TURN VELOCITY ADJUSTER TILL IT IS ABOUT HALF WAY IN. THEN AIR UP THE MARKER. IF IT IS STILL LEAKING THAN THE PROB LIES IN THAT O-RING BEING WORN OUT. IF IT DOES NOT LEAK, THEN ATEMPT TO CYCLE THE MARKER. IF IT DOES NOT FIRE TURN THE VELOCITY ADJUSTER ( IN SMALL INCREMENTS ) UNTILL THE MARKER STARTS TO OPERATE. THEN CRONO THE GUN.

LET ME KNOW HOW IT TURNS OUT.

Wow.. those capital letters just about killed me.

On the back, where the air is leaking out, try putting a hex wrench in it, and turn it counterclockwise. Gas your gun up, and turn it. That may help.. but it also could be something else.

Does it leak down the barrel at all? Does this happen when you pull the trigger?

Ok look.........Its real simple......That silver thing in the back is the velocity adjuster. gas her up and back it off a few turns......if it doesn't stop. Go to www.airgun.com and buy a part call a regulator piston for the RT pro........Better yet....here is the part you NEED http://store.airgun.com/index.cfm?fu...&categoryID=23

        This will fix your problems.

If it is used, give the valve a good cleaning and check all orings. Then start at a low velocity setting and turn it up until the gun fires. check the velocity and set to the proper setting. If the orings are good and it leaks out the back at normal velocities, then you may need a new regulator piston assembly.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

took it apart- spent 1.5 hours with tech at shop down the street....
still leaks..... So i guess i need to order that part.

Also, when i bought the marker it came with what I guess to be the old bolt and some brass things with O rings in the middle.

Check for a worn sear. That will cause it to leak down the barrel even with a short powertube spacer.
