    Custom Scuba

i was wondering what it would take to built an nitro compressor? you see all these fancey ones that cost a lot of cash. one would assume that you would need some kind of pump and an eletric motor to turn it. as long i can get enough to fill my tank. any info / help....would be great!

    Thanks

I did a little research on this. It can be done buying parts from ebay. Still not very cheap tho.

    Faster fills = more $$$.

I saw these silly bike pump things that will fill a 68 to 3000 PSI with 15-20 minutes of pumping!

Filtration = more $$$, too. And you really don't want to be using an unfiltered bike pump on your HPA tank...

Besides, do you really want to be the guy hand-pumping his tank in the stagin area before games?

or instead of that you could look into a standard air compressor with a good PSI booster like the one Nitro Duck offers (in my opinion that one is ok, but not compared to my team's booster) but thats a start. plus i have seen the hand pump at an event... i felt bad for the guys with them and let them use ours. or you could carry around a converted SCUBA tank on your back and never worry about air very much, or head to your local scuba shop they will fill them cheaper then pb stores. but make sure there filling licence is up to date and its a reputable store.

the hill hand pumps have a decent filtration system on them. They have first a regular looking air filter and then they have a dryvac(i think thats what its called) filter that you have to replace every few months that pulls a lot of the water and debris out of the air. It would be good for someone who has a long drive to get either a pb tank or a scuba tank filled. Ive thought about it. Its only about 240-260 with the good filter. Its a bit but still for me at 6 bucks a fill for the closest n2 filling pb shop with about 10 bucks worth of drive it doesnt take many fills to make up its cost. And most scuba tanks wont be had for 80 bucks. New a lot of them run in the mid to upper 100 range before shipping and then you still need a 40 dollar adapter. If you plan on needing to refill at the field and they dont have air I would go the scuba route. It is so much easier to quickly fill and wont cause you to have to sit any games out working your butt off to fill a tank. If you have a big enough tank to get you through a days play and just want something to fill up sometime over the week and forget about it I would think about the bike pump idea. Its your call though. If you want to compress your own air it is going to take a bunch of money any way you try it.
Why doesnt anything work for me.

true, its going to be expensive anyway you look at it. but if you already have a air compressor like for air tools and what not look into a air booster. any where that sells SCUBA equipmen should have one. i am not positive on that one. if you do get one DONT SPEED FILL IT! not only will you damage the valvle you will also blow up your tank, this is from personal experiance! and dont try building your own compressor or booster. they make good craters when they blow up.
