Best upgrade for a spyder = a better marker altogether.
But, if you're adamant about "upgrading" what you have, there are a few simple things you can do.
Polish the internals - better gas efficiency, better velocity consistency and less friction on the parts. It can be done with toothpaste, but I would recommend lapping compound if you've some handy.
Lighten the hammer - better gas efficiency, less valve bounce, etc.
Lighten the trigger/decrease stroke length - easily done with a drilled and tapped set screw or two and some tweaking of the springs, polishing of contact areas, etc.
Milling/ano/cosmetic changes? What gas are you running? Do you have a good reg?
And even after all that, you still have a spyder. Honestly, when all is said and done, you're better off getting a good marker to start with.
But if you're gonna do it, go for it. http://www.ottersccustoms.com/spyder.html has a wealth of spyder info. Before: "You're playing with WHAT?"
After: "Crap! It's that guy with the pump!" -
