    Breaking Paint at the Chrono

Is anyone else having problems breaking paint in the barrel? I even break balls at the chrono. Any suggestions? I have heard that I have an old style bolt and need a upgraded one but I was not sure. Robagd I was told to talk to you when you get a chance.

    -check for a broken nubbin
-is the paint good? does it fit the barrel all right? Does this occur with more than one brand of paint?

    Hope this helps

      Thanks rhetor22,

Yeah the nubbin is fine, v-style nubbin. Paint is Marbs, decent and happens with different paints. I`ve heard I may need an extended nose bolt, but I was not sure.

I break at the chrono all the time... since that is the only time I ever use RT mode, I never bothered to learn not to short stroke a manual mag :) Where would I be without the 'E' part of the emag?

If you are breaking in the barrel, I don't think the bolt is the problem. Check your velocity. When mines up above 300 I break in the barrel too. And lose accuracy.

Also make sure that the paint is feeding in. Some people tilt their gun sideways while chronoing. When the gun is tilted sideways the paint doesnt feed in all the way, therefore broken or chopped paintball.

get a parabolic powerfeed plug, if its p/f if its not a p/f then get a p/f body and that will solve it

I dont know about you guys, but I just used 4 month old paintballs in 49 degree weather the other day, with c02, in order to see how good my new lapco barrel was (I had no other way to test it and I couldnt wait). Im not sure if it matters, but I was firing 7 a second and i fired like 300 and not one broke. Velocity was 290. I almost never have trouble with breaking paint unless I fire at a 45 degree angle (duh).
