    Milling Mag Bolts??????

Would it be possible to mill a little bit of your mag bolt to reduce the weight? Maybe the protruding part that the spring pushes back onto, you could mill slots in it? Or if it needs to be sealed you could just mill an indented ring around it?

the bolts are made to meet certain tolerances and milling down the part your talking about would call for the need of a longer spring and I don't think the marker would function properly that way.

Here's a picture of what i was thinking. I don't think you would need a longer spring. The slots go all the way through.

The milling would also be a little more contured to the bolt.

You would save an almost inoticable amount of wieght. This would also cause the bolt to wear out faster, and could create some problems with the way the sear latches onto the bolt.

oh you mean the part that the sear latches on to and holds over 400 psi of pressure... sure for the insignificant amount of weight you can trade it for a broken bolt leaking mag and a ton of other problems.

If you really want to reduce the weight of your bolt, you could try a superbolt, it weighs in at 1.2oz where a long nose bolt weighs in at 2.1oz. Just a suggestion.
