Is this normal wear? (have pics)

    Hey all,
Well after a days shooting I tore my gun down to clean it. There were metal flakes everywhere. At first I thought I ate the sear up, but its fine. Then when I looked in my ule body, it looked like it had been eaten up by the bolt. Is this normal? I never noticed this before, whats going on?

    Will be back this evening.

WOW I have never seen anything like that. Is the body bent or warped at all? What about the power tube? Something is majorly wrong in there.

is that the back or the front of it? if it was the back then it might have been caused by the spring

Nothing looks bent, could it be from over tightening the field strip screw?

Never use co2, and being in Phoenix Arizona anything less than 40 degrees is
too cold to be outside. I always use air from SP maxflo running 1000psi output.

The pic is looking in from the back.

              Who is Tuna?

Spring wear... I just got a new spring put in. less than 2000 shots on it. Any mag spring should work on any mag right?

Also, I have a blue bumper not the clear one, on recomendation of my proshop.

it might be the fact that your running it on 1000psi not to sure about that but it could be

Its hard to tell from the pic, but it looks like the power tube on your valve is bent. There also looks to be alot of abnormal wear on the bolt.

It the power tube is bent then that explains everything.

It would be best to send it in to AGD. They will get you fixed up lickedy-split.

If the power tube was bent wouldnt he get bolt stick? I think its probably normal wear from the spring.
I say clean it up and shoot it some more. If you then have more metal shavings I would see about getting some help from AGD or Tuna.

Maybe your level 10 isnt tuned right, making your bolt very wabbley?

                        Hey Bro

I think your on the right track of the feild strip screw being too tight.

I cleaned it up, and shot some more, and more shavings. I ran a shop square all arround the powertube and could not notice it being bent. What magnitude of bend are we talking? I am confident it is straight to within a hundredth of an inch from center, just like the powertube on my other mag that works fine. If a thousanth off center is enough to cause this, I have a whole new respect for automags.
I dont think shooting at such high pressure should cause that, folks have been running high pressure on mags for years right?
On closer examination there is no wear at all on the spring so I do not think that it is the problem. The rim on the bolt is causing this.
Whoever said the lvl 10 may not be tuned properly has my attention. as far as I know it is working fine... I can put my finger in it no prob. what more do I need to know?

will hand tighten the screw and try again... cross your fingers, I hope it is only something that stupid.

Well I be a monkeys uncle.
I think the screw was it. thanknkfully.

I just railed on it for a few hundred rounds, and no shavings.

Thanks for all the help everyone. EH!

now if I could keep my barrel from unscrewing itself.

I had the same problem with mine. I found it was because of the body/valve alignment. An easy fix, just wrap 1 layer of electrical tape around the valve just in front of the on/off. It will fit a little tighter in the body and stay aligned straight.
