Having problems with my automag...looking for help

My set-up: classic valve, level 10 bolt, inline stabilizer, and running on co2. I purchased the marker used and just recieved it.

Problem: There are actually two problems, so hopefully I will describe them both well enough to understand. The first problem is I gas up the mag and after playing around with the inline stab pressure and the velocity, it will finally shoot. When it does shoot it appears the bolt takes a while to "reset" its self, as if it is sticking a bit. This means the max rof is 1 bps otherwise it will not fire.
Second problem is that, a lot of times, the mag will pressure up but it will not fire. There is pressure behind the trigger, but one the trigger is pulled nothing happens.

These are two problems, sometimes it will fire and sometimes it will not.

I took the AIR regulator apart and found one thrashed o-ring on for the piston assembly (behind the regulator nut). Would this be the cause of both of these problems? Of course I will need to replace this and try it, but would like to know if there are any other potential problems I should try and look for. Your help is appreciated.

If you have any other questions about this please let me know and I will try to describe the problem(s) better. Thanks.

your level 10 might need a little adjusting...

You might want to check your trigger rod length as well. You can find that info here on the AO forums. If it's a bit out of whack it can really cause havoc.

First of all you might want to remove the stabilizer (if you can) and run directly of the CO2 for testing purposes ( this will let you know if the gun is the problem or the stabilizer). Also you probably should check the level 10 setup it sounds like you have too small of a carrier which is causing some heavy bolt stick.

          Thanks for the suggestions everyone.

Now I can't even seem to get it to fire. The trigger still pressures but I pull it and nothing. Any suggestions on this, then I will conquer the bolt sticking problem.

make sure your tank is full.. if its not the marker will pressurizes, but there wont be enough pressure to fire the marker.

Tank is full, I've made sure of that. I removed the inline stabilizer and connected directly to the AIR valve, and now it is leaking out the back and still will not fire. Ugh!

turn down the velocity until the leaking stop and then try to shoot the mag if it fires then you can reinstall the stabilizer and turn up its output pressure . If it doesnt shoot you can go two different directions 1 you can order a new regulator piston (the old one maybe too weak to get the gun up to firing pressure with a LX bolt installed). 2 put a larger carrier in the power tube and repressurize the gun and see if that works.

Thanks for the help. I am going to try and get a new piston assembly and see if that will helps with the leaking. I also installed a stock automag spring and got the gun to fire, so now I am going to get the springs for the level 10 and adjust it accordingly as well. Hopefully this will work and my mag will be good to go. Update to come.

Yeah from what I understand tuning a level 10 is a bit of trial and error, but once they are set up correctly its worth the trouble.

only thing I can add, is: does your valve still have any stars on it?

                      I'd suggest using one up.
