AO: We are back from the dead... again! After an 18 day outage, we are finally alive and well. Who knew how complicated updating software/databases from 2008 would be. I still have alot of tweaks to make, but my main goal was getting everything patched and updated to 2026.
Vbulletin 6 has changed alot since 2008 so we will have a ton of new features to dig into.
will the mini mag still be in production for a long time
I want to get a mini mag but I'm wondering if they will be makeing them and parts for them for a long time to come?
does administration or anyone know?
While the Minimag probably won't be available when current stock is sold, parts should not be a problem. All parts are compatible with the Automag and the recently released Pro-Classic.
I think parts for the 'Mag will be available for a long, long time. I wouldn't worry about it. The entire 'gun is very durable and should serve you well for many years.
I say buy one before the AGD prices go back up! New ones from AGD are about the best deal you will find on a new 'gun.
They have been selling them since "90 or "92 I dont think you will ever have to worry about a lack of parts. Even if they quit making them, but who says they are going to quit making them?
I don't know if it will be unavailable anytime soon. However, my guess is that the Minimag won't be available after the current stock is sold. Why do I think this? The Pro-Classic is replacing the Automag and isn't available with the Minimag body. The additional milling/fab work on the Minimag is nice but adds cost.
How rumors get started....probably how the demise of AGD rumor got started also.
A guess based on the demise of the standard feed body - AGD doesn't have them anymore. I called last week and asked. I had to buy mine used from MCB.
If stainless bodies are so despised by most because of weight, would you carry and continue to make four different type of stainless bodies (PF-HL, PF-HR, MM-HL, MM-HR) when demand is rather small? From a business standpoint, probably not. Unless, of course, there is still a market willing to pay the premium for the Minimag body due to the increased material and labor involved in making them.
Personally, I hope they carry them 'till I am old and gray. However, I wouldn't count on it!
To again reassure you jaybird2, you need not worry about the Minimag body letting you down. The stainless bodies are nearly bullet-proof and everything else on the Minimag is interchangeable with all other Automags/Pro-Classic Automags.
