    Air effeciency/leak question

Hey guys, I have a couple of questions for you.

I just got my first mag setup about a 2 weeks ago. Micromag, Intelliframe, X-valve(#2carrier), ULT(4shims), and shortest spring(the middle red spring doesn't allow it to fire.) I got everything in good working order, the trigger is easily walkable, etc. When I played the other day I played about 6 games just fine, then I noticed after I filled my tank (47/3000) that when I aired up I had a slight leak coming from the bolt area. And sometimes when I fired it would go away, and sometimes it would come back. It was pretty random. Could this be because I was still breaking it in? At the time it only had been fired/dry fired about 2000 times. Later on in the day it went away and didn't happen anymore. But for a while it was a considerable leak.

My other question is about my air effeciency. With a full tank (47/3000, preset 800) I was only getting about 1 hopper and 2 1/2 pods. And this was before any of the leaking. I know mags are air hogs but not this bad. Is there a way I could set it up differently to make it better on air? I've learned a lot about mags, but I definitely need to learn more. Any info you guys can lay on me would be greatly appreciated!!

Oh, BTW, Happy New Year Everybody!!!

Get a bigger tank. 47/3000 is TINY by today's standards.

And yes, the leak can be coming from the level 10 break in period. Here's how to tell- gas it up, press and hold the trigger. If the leak stops, it's in the powertube area. If it doesn't, it's in the on/off area.

Thanks Dayspring. Yea I'm getting a 68/4500 nitroduck x-stream in a couple months. Can't wait to finally get a light tank. My tank now almost weighs more than my gun and hopper with paint in it, lol.

Try removing a shim from the powertube. If the leak continues, try the next smaller carrier with the same carrier oring. As the oring gets broken in, it can sometimes require a smaller carrier than first thought.

A 47/3000 is pretty small. You are getting about 500 shots off that tank. Thats not bad, actually. If you were using a 68/4500 tank on the same gun, you would get approximately 1250 shots at the same efficiency.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

As for the leak, I would try putting some oil in valve and dry fir it 20-30 times, my guess is this will stop the leak, if not then I would try a diffrent carrier. Yes the leak is from the break in period.

If you have 140 pods and a 200 round hopper, then you are getting 550 shots off with a 47/3k tank which is pretty good and with 100 round pods, you are still getting 450 shots off which is about right for a 47/3k. The rule of thumb with 3000 round tanks is multiply the cubic inch by 10 and thats roughly how many shots to expect.
