    Classic On/Off Top identification, please..

I came across this one in a Classic mag that I just picked up.

I haven't seen one like this before, can someone ID it for me?

Sheer curiosity is all, although it looks like it might restrict flow a bit.....

    Thanks in advance,

standard old skool Mag on/off top...this model is discontinued. They changed the design for more flow and so that knuckleheads wont put it in backwards.

I agree with Tuna, and I'll fess up and say I'm a knucklehead! Smart Parts put one similar on thier Magic Box Mags and it can easily be put in upside down too. I couldn't figure out why I had so much shoot down until I realized what I had done and fixed it. It works great now, but I felt kinda silly for a while.

Alright, at the risk of sounding overly unintelligent, which way is up, and which way is down?

          Thanks in advance,

If it's an old AIR valve, then you'll find the up/down direction laser engraved on the bottom of the valve. I have to check every time.

I still have the old skool piece and don't have problems with shoot down......as long as it's in correctly !!!

              Thanks Scott....

Mine's in right, but I don't know how many times I've looked at the diagram without seeing it...

              Just call me Knucklehead!

All great techs start out as knuckleheads(except me of course). I once troubleshot an emag for 2 hrs...couldn't figure that sucker out for the life of me. Damn clicking noise. For 2 hrs...then I took the safety off.
