    Bolt Spring Problems

Ok, heres the deal, I have a level 10 and an RT Valve. I have two of the springs which came with my Level 10, the brass and metal. The red one is missing. I am trying to put in the longest one to up my velocity to 285 fps. However when I switch springs from smallest to longest, the gun does not shoot. I then adjust the velocity. It shoots, but air shoots out the back of the regulatot nut. Now, heres the question. Will I be able to put the longest spring on my bolt if I adjust the velocity more carefully?

    Thanks

try adjusting the velocity very slowly. just a tiny little turn, then fire a few shots and repeat.
it took my about 3/4 of a hopper to chrono in when i put in a red spring.

if that doesn't work, try oiling whatever o-ring is allowing the valve to vent.

and putting in a longer spring will not increase velocity if thats what you are trying to do. it will decrease it.

You may need a new regulator piston specifically for level 10. I was having the same problem and this is what I had to do. It is designed for the higher pressure required by level 10. Retro valves were designed before level 10. This is the only way I have been able to get the red and the silver spring to work.

      Read the description closely.

Yep, it sounds like the reg piston assembly. I had to replace this assembly in all my RT valves to set up the Lvl10.

Also the longest spring may not work for you. I my Emag I can use it up to 70* weather, but in upper 80* weather I can not turn the velocity down enough and still make it work to stay under 300fps. I can stay 295fps in the 70* weather. Any place I need to be under 280fps I have to use a shorter spring. It is not the end of the world, but the longer one you use is going to be softer hitting on the balls. The red one almost always works in any conditions I play.

Ok, I can put in the long spring and it shoots fine. Except for the fact that everytime I shoot, air vents out of the vent. It is important to understand that the air doesn't vent constantly, just when I shoot.

            Help me with that

            Thanks

This is what irks me. I know its probably that, but AGD should include a regulator piston in with the level 10 package which I spent my hard earned dollars on.

Yep, you need the reg piston.

When you get the reg piston also pick up a red spring. You would probably be happier with it.

Exactly. Remember that not all guns will work with the longest spring. Most guns using the long spring will sacrifice reliability. Use the red spring.
