    Chopping question

    Hey,
Reading all of the posts have gotten me a little nervious. I have owned my tac one for about 2 months and have ran about 3 cases through it. The last game i played in i chopped an ugly amount of paint. THe paint was crappy, dimples because the store i bought it from obviosly didnt care about quality controle. But anyways, it only seemed like it would chop when i would sweet spott the rt. I have only chopped 2 balls in all the games prior. Could this be just a case of bad paint, or does my gun need adjustment. Oh any btw i checked the bolt for paint after a couple, it looked clean meaning it prlly was a break, but near the end of the game i chopped a few in a row, and after the game the bolt had some paint on it. NE ideas for a paraniod kid lol?
    thanks
    joe

for startes make sure you get some fresh, quality paint

not qualit, not fresh, FRESH AND QUALITY

probly from a field or shop that goes thru alot of paint.

then see how that goes, if its still chooping make sure you dont have a detent in too far or that the paint isnt too big for the barrel.

also make sure your lvlX has a gold spring and isnt sticking.

i would also reccomend that you stop sweetspotting the gun, and do yuo have a hopper fast enough for what your shooting

    halo or egg?

It sounds like most of your breaks are barrel breaks. What is your LVL X setup (which spring, which carrier, and how many shims?)

When you get it from AGD they are not "broken in" as far as I know. You will have to adjust it eventually, and in your case, that time might be now. Next time you get a break, take your barrel off and look to see where the goo starts in the barrel. If it is broken at the breech of the barrel, you need to tune the LVL X. If it is broken like halfway down the barrel, it is your paint.

I have shot all kinds of paint through mine and the most problem I have had was with crappy paint breaking halfway down the barrel. When I look at the paint and see that most of the balls look like golf balls, I know why it broke. But rarely have I ever got a break at the breech, and if I have, it was probably my fault.

See where the paint is breaking in the barrel and we can go from there.

Use the red lvl 10 spring and make sure you have a fast hopper. Egg or Halo.
The gold spring which is what you have in now, will not work well at stopping chops except with very tough paint. You will do much better with the red spring. You will also have to raise your velocity after you put the new spring in.

Dont be nervous - the lvl 10 is awesome. Just do a search and find the threads that cover it and learn how to adjust it. Its a piece of cake.
