automag newbie level 10 tuning question

First off, please forgive me if this is a faq. I just bought a new tac one, and I played with it this weekend. It worked great for a case of paint, then the level10 started to leak, which I expected. So I changed from the 1.0 carrier that came from the factory to the .5 carrier. After I did that the gun would leak occasionally, and the leak would go away if I shot it a couple of times. This of course drove me crazy. I tried going to the 0 carrier, but that seemed to be too tight, and the bolt would stick. On all these changes I left the 2 shims that it came with from the factory in. Finally today I called agd, and they told me to try a different oring. So now I have a different oring using the 1.0 carrier, and it works fine. I am afraid that the whole thing is going to happen again; the oring will break in, I'll go down to .5, and the thing is going to leak occasionally. Am I doing this right? Any suggestions. The gun is awesome btw.

yeah sounds like you got it....... try one shim on the 1 before going to the .5 though, because too many shims cause leaks too....

I agree, try removing a shim or two. They can cause leaks if the vent hole is too close to the edge of the oring.
Except for the Automag in front, its usually the man behind the equipment that counts.

No it wont be a problem over and over. Once you get it set up right and the O ring broke in, it will last and last.

Thanks Guys!!! I put the original (broken in) oring back in, with one shim. No no more occasional leaks!!!! But doesn't the number of shims change the sensitivity of the bolt backing up? The level10 seems to be working ok now, it didn't chop my finger off, and its resetting itself.
