Question for the Automag Experts...

I purchased an older black minimag today that was leaking for dirt cheap (serial number less than 3000). In tearing it apart to clean, i opened up the regulator and found that it appears that the on/off assembly is either:

1) missing parts OR
2) the older minimag has parts that are different than those listed at the airgun designs website.

The part(s) I am questioning are these two that make up the on/off bottom & top. The parts I have are both made of stainless steel, one with4 holes the other a solid piece. A comparison of the 'on/off' parts shown in the pics below..

My question is, how do i reassemble this! I know I should have taken better care not to just tear it open and clean it, but I had planned on there being more diagrams available that had the same parts that mine uses! Appreciate any replies...

Side note: why does paintballgear sell the black version of the minimags for so much more than the regular grey version? Are the blacks hard to come by or something?

Missing 1 Power Tube O-Ring ???



I know the part name is confusing, but the on/off has two Power Tube O-Rings in it...

nevermind, I figured it out... apparently these are all parts to an aftermarket on/off assembly. Thats why they look so different.

Anyone know if AGD ever made a 10-hole venturi bolt? The mag I have looks like its an ANS 10-hole, but it doesn't have the foamie... anyone know where to get replacement foamies?

Mine has no foamie either...

I have the same bolt in my rt pro. I think it is an ANS phase 2, and they started putting the foamie in them in phase 3... I guess you could try to super-glue an AGD foamie to it and trim it up a little if you are getting breaks...

call ANS, I'll have to dig to find the 800 number if i can but they'll send you a little bag of like 20 or so for free

the ans bolts have a little circle foamis instead of the 3 spoke foamie of the AGD bolts. i recommend ordering a whole on/off assembly stock from AGD. Also a parts kit and all your leaks should be sealed. also some paintball gun oil. make sure to clean all parts of the valve and oil them. then dry fire it 20 shots with out the barrel on.

on another note all ans bolts that have ever been made (the foamie ones) use the circular stick on foamie (i had mine superglued into place) that is placed in that open space in the center.

first, the valve you have is a reactor valve. i also own one. personally they are the bigest wast of mony ever. min always leaked. i put my stock valve back in and sugjest you do the same. it will probably solve your problem.

thanks for all the help guys... ill see if it leaks after i put everything back together. It'd be terrible if I have to revert all these upgrades back to stock, knowing that this guy spent money upgrading the thing just to make it worse.

Law, I'd appreciate it if you could find that ANS number for me.. it'd be a huge help.

Minimag valve

You should put the valve back to stock anyway! None of the available after market up-grades make the mag valves work any better then ADG did to begin with! The ReTro valve is the only way to make a Mag or Minimag shoot better the stock! (This is my opinion based on my experiance with the8 or 10 Mags I have owned!)

You don't have to replace the aftermarket vale unless it is leaking or you just think you have to. It's not better than the stock one at all but don't waste money is my motto.my used mag also had one of these "reactor valves" in it when I bought it.
As far as the foamie goes, I make my own using a leather punch. they work great. you can fan the trigger as fast as you can and it never breaks paint. a 5/16" leather hole punch and a mouse pad.thick or thin, your preference. I use the thick ones. don't care what anyone says it works like a charm. put them on with super glue gel after you clean the area with acetone. I will be happy to send you some of them or some ANS foamies that I never used.

On/Off assemblies are $15 from AGD. They aren't on the online store yet, so call them to order one. Just because it's not leaking, doesn't mean it's working properly. Get the stock AGD on/off assembly and you won't have to worry about shootdown, future leaks and it's not a pain like the reactor valve. Everytime you pull out your valve with the reactor valve that bottom piece falls out. The AGD on/off will stay in the valve until you pull it out.

There's ANS' website. Call them and they'll send you Mag bolt foamies for no charge. They have adhesive pre-applied to them. The only problem with the ANS bolt is that it wears out at the sear latching surface much faster than the stock AGD bolts. If your bolt is worn and causing problems, get an AGD foamie bolt. They're on the online store for $35.

don't bother with a fomie unless you find your brakeing paint bad I'd put a stock on/off in and by the way the on/off is in the valve body not the regulator
