Devilmags are only mechenical aren't they. If they ain't, on what battery (9V or AGD) do they work?

They work on 9v. They intentionally get rid of the emag battery (most of the time anyway).

Basically AGD trimmed the hump off the back of the Emag grip.
The Emag IS tourney legal AS IS. Just make sure you can not bouce the trigger in manual mode. You do that by turning down your input pressure to the marker. That is why you NEED a adjustable tank regulator on any Mag. Especially if you are going to play tourney.
Eyes On A Emag
Dont waste your money with eyes. A Level 10 bolt made eyes are obsolete. With eyes you have to adjust for paint color before every game and worry if they get dirty the gun wont fire, reset for the next ball or start chopping more balls because it thinks that there is ball ready to fire. Just GET A LEVEL 10 if you dont have one it is the BEST thing ever tto happen to paintball. Plus AGD Do NOt Sell ACE any more. for the reason above.

Actually, i wouldn't say that. Eyes came out after the lvl 10 i think, and even so, they are for different products, so not really comparable.
About tourney legal etc. Theres that new X software coming out soon. exactly what you're looking for, and you don't need a new board i dont think, just a chip and a reflash.
About the E-M mode thing. I think you need to find a do-it-yourself solution to lock it in E-mode. Even if you lower your pressure so you can't rapidfire in mech, you can still go hybrid and rapidfire easy.

Devilmags are elctro, not mech, and i've never seen one with an emag battery.
