Removing and re installing a twist lock pin?

I sent some odd parts away to be annoed. Among those parts was a bare rail.

I got the stuff back and it looks sweet, but i have a problem. i need to remove the twist lock retaining pin from my old rail and install it in this new one.

    I am befuddled

How is this done? The diagrams at airgun.com don't offer any help here.

it is pressed in from the top, u can just whack it from teh bottom with a hammer to get it out. then whack it back into the new rail. it'll take a decent ammount of force to get it in and out

Pretty much just take your gun apart, and pop it out with a hammer.

I've yet to successfully re-install a twist-lock assembly. I usually end up damaging it. IMHO, the best way to re-install it is to buy a ULE body.

This is the most ridicules thing I have ever heard, you don't need loctite.

                    Hammer out.
                    hammer in.

Do you have hammers for fingers? Because that might explain it.

All but one off my mags just needed some help. The rest just pop'd right out. A dift and a hammer will work or a press. Hammer it too hard & you can reck it.

You can bend the rail by beating it out. Make sure to support it properly or just use a press.

Ditto to what tuna said. I've found success in putting the rail in a vice with a piece of wood on the top of the rail and the other side touching the twistlock assembly. A few slow turns should pop the assembly out with no damage to any of your parts and deffinitely makes less mess than a hammer. Make sure you use something to buffer between the rail and the vice to avoid scratches.

I do the same to put them in, just reverse the rail and use a small hex bit or something to fit around the top of the assembly as to not scratch or smash it.
