    8 hole valve

Ok, I was at the paintball store the other day talking to the owner (me and his son are friends so he gives me good advice on pb stuff). He saw I had my mag and he loves them as well. He was telling me I needed to get this 8 hole valve. I use a classic valve. I was wondering what everyone on here thought about it. I've looked around and I can't even seem to find one anywhere. If you have one or know anything about it please fill me in.

Dont do it! I have read time and time again they dont do anything. If you want to get a faster shot rate buy a Xvalve and slap that puppy in there. Woot

I had one 10 years ago. They do NOT improve the performance, it hurts it. Don't waste your money.

I have had 3 of them and I can't say they didn't do anything, but they may have done something under the right conditions. The reason that everyone always recommends these is because the older classic valves had a slight flaw in their creation process. The front part of the valve was created and an air passage from the charger to the on/off was made. Now, the charger was created as a seperate piece and the air-transfer hole was created in an approximate location to where it would line up with the valve front. These holes sometimes would not line up properly and you would get some shootdown because the airflow was restricted. The 8-hole mod was to compensate for this. Once AGD found out what the issue was, they fixed it eliminating the need for the 8-hole mod. They now have the two air passages lining up so there is no restriction on the airflow.

Honestly, you don't really need this mod unless you are expecting high rates of fire where you would outshoot your exising setup. Even then, this would not be enough to fix the problem. You may be able to get your valve to recharge just a little faster with an 8-hole mod, but you are still going through the bottle neck of the on/off. You would potentially need an aftermarket on/off top that would allow for an increased airflow. I am not saying the 8-hole mod works or doesn't work and that this is a guaranteed method to "increase performance," but it is a start for you. If you are just a rec player and are out to have fun with everyone else, then I would stick with the stock setup. If you are looking for more speed, then you have an idea on where to start.

Thanks for the info. I"m just going to stick with what I have. My first upgrade has to be the lvl 10 anyway.
