    Weird problem

I need the opinion of the AGD pros out here on this one.

I have a Xvalved mag with a ult, lvl10, ule body, inteliframe, and emag rail. The emag rail had the hole where the body sits in enlarged to fit a minimag body. (read: dremeled out)

Here is the issue. The gun seems to hang up an aweful lot. At first, it looks like typical bolt stick. It leaks down the barrel and the sear doesnt return all the way.

I have played with carriers, ult shims, ect.

Then I noticed that if I loosened the back field strip screw a little, it worked fine. BUT, if you have to remove the valve, or frame, you get the same thing again and I never can seem to get it perfect.

Im thinking that the rail is to blame, since it has been modded.

I put this gun together from parts, so Im not using the AGD front frame screw, just a long-enough 10-32 cap head from the parts box. (No washer) (No washer on the field strip screw either)

Im wondering if I should replace the rail, or just get a new set of screws w/washers from Tuna.

    What do ya think?

My vote is for replacing the rail.

I am interested to see what type of replies you get to this because I have the same problem with a Mag that I assembled from brand new parts: AGD ULE Body, RPG Recon Rail, Logic Vertical Frame. I am using a brand new "official" front frame screw and thumb screw as well, and even tried swapping to an AGD I-Frame just to rule out the parts not playing well together.

What I have found is that it appears that it is not so much how tight the field strip screw is, but rather that the front frame screw and Field strip screw are tightened to approximately the same tightness or torque. If the Front Frame Screw is reasonably tight, then the field strip screw needs to be as well. Once I find a good match, I mark the screws slightly on the edge facing the back of the marker to help finding the balance again after reassembling it.

I don't have the same prblem with the SS Classic or thicker TAC ONE bodies I have, so I am wondering if it has something to do with the ULE Bodies being slightly more "flexible" but that is just a guess...

Yeah thats kind of what im figuring. I also made the hole where the body sits in bigger to accomodate a ss minimag body that I no longer have.

If I had a 1/4" drive torque wrench I would use it on this thing and see whats up.

Im going to pick up a new rail from somewhere and see what the results are. I like the RPG stuff better than the Emag rail so it was on my list anyhow.

I ground round the oblong tab on the body to fit the rail and it works fine.
