    X-Valve Problems... Please Help

I have an Automag with an X-Valve that is shooting extremely inconsistantly. I'm talking like 320, 260, 282, 330, ect.

When I disconnect the air, the gun is somehow still pressurized for a second or two before it finally spits it out, as if air is momentarily trapped inside the gun.

Also, the gun sometimes leaks air out the back of the regulator.

I've given it plenty of oil, I've made sure the velocity on the regulator wasn't turned all the way up, and I've replaced both the regulator seat and the on/off o-ring, but nothing seems to work. What the heck is wrong with it? What could be causing such crazy velocity fluctuations? What else can I do?

Replace the reg seal if its damaged or hard as a rock. Either of these problems will allow air to seep pas the seal causing spikes at the chrono. If you let it sit for a while the first shot will be hot and the next will be low. Also remember to chorono your marker by rapid firing it 3 time then hold the trigger back. When over the chrono fire hold the trigger back look at the fps fire again hold the trigger back adjust then repeat until your at the desiered fps...
