ULT - Stick with me on this

I know there are plenty of posts out there about this, and i've seen them to, but putting them together neve gave me an exact answer so heres my qustion

with the trigger pull kit installed whats the side effects other than less reactivity ?, is there bounce or response action, or what ?

and without the ULT whats there ? bounce no bounce response ?

    thanks in advance

The ULT was made to give the mag a lighter trigger pull(from 3lbs to 1lb). In doing so the trigger reactivity is reduced to the point that trigger bounce is nearly eliminated. Bounce was a tourney concern because one trigger pull did not equal one shot of the marker. IMO ramping function in any marker should then be illegal.
to continue... since the reactivity is reduced with the ULT, it is much easier to short stroke the marker. Causing what is known to Magers as "CHUFF" (a "half shot" if you will, alot of air but no ball).
If bounce is concern, you can get a adjustable tank reg and reduce the input pressure to the
valve this will reduce the amount of bounce at the trigger without a ULT. If you want more bounce just crank up the pressure to the valve (up to 900psi) but you will be using alot of air
    with each shot.
If you want a lighter trigger pull then I suggest AN Emag, hypergrip or my favorite the H-air trigger(when it comes out). Beacuse the ULT pull is ligher but not quite walkable for most players.

    TO SUMMARIZE:
ULT= lighter trigger pull(1LB) +less bounce (less reactiveity)+ more"CHUFF" (untill you are use to it)
A Standard RT on/off (non ULT) = 3lb trigger pull + more or less reactivity depending on the input pressure to the valve + Less "chuff"
You can vary the input pressure on a Ult to produce more or less reactivity but the "CHUFF" FACTOR will also increase and decrease along with the trigger resistance.
As in life. you can get something for nothing there is always something that is sarficed. It all depends where YOU are comfortable. hope that does it.

Chuff doesnt happen every shot though right ?.. you just have to fully pull the trigger ?.. i've had mech autocockers before so shortstroking is somthing im good at not doing

Yeah, its a lot like shortstroking an autococker. It has a two part triggerpull and one thing happens right before the other.

what about the standard Rt on/off makes chuff happen less ?, wouldnt it happen more seeing as how the trigger pushes back and that might push your finger back before fully reaching the end of the pull, not only that but its a heavier trigger pull

The standard RT/Xvalve on/off pushes your trigger finger back in to the "start" postion much faster than what you could do by yourself, similar to what a tippman response trigger does, although with much less "push". So....unless you have like so gorrilla finger, and don't let the trigger rod return the trigger all the way forward...you shouldn't have much problem at all

I got a new (to me) x-valve and ULT for my mag last fall, and I was having serious chuff problems . After searching the forums, I discovered that this was fairly common. Luke's Customs does a great sear/trigger mod that helps stop the chuffing . I had mine done and I can't believe the difference. Here's the forum link for the trigger/sear mod that discusses the what the mod does. Luke didn't invent the mod, but he offers it at a great price ($15 to mod the sear and install 2 trigger stops). Plus he's a great guy to deal with.
