    CP Foregrip Problem

I had an interesting problem over the weekend...

I just installed a CP mini gas-thru foregrip on my mag, and of course I gassed it up and test-fired it. It worked perfectly fine at home - maybe 50 shots...no paint though.

I get to the field, everything is great at the range and chrono. Now the problems start...

Try to fire in the game, trigger sticks back - no paint flying. If I hit the back of the valve it will fire, but that's the only way to make it work. The trigger has slight resistance but will not fire the marker.

I call myself out, de-gas and check all my fittings - everything is fine. Put a new o-ring on the foregrip as well. Try to play in the next game, same problem.

Back at the car, I figure the ONLY thing different on my mag since last trip (when it worked flawlessly) is the CP foregrip - so I put my stock foregrip back on and everything is PERFECT for the rest of the day.

Is it possible that I got a bad foregrip? Everything looks great on it, no knicks or scratches anywhere on the threads or o-ring groove...

I know it's not that big of a deal - but it's definitely bothering me. The CP foregrip looks SO MUCH better than the stock one...lol

    Specs:
    X-Valve
    Chimera
    CP on/off ASA
    Macro lines
Everything on my mag has been battle-proven except the dang foregrip!

Do you have a ULT on it? One of my friends took his gas-thru grip off for another one before a tournament and I think he had to play with his ULT to get it to shoot again. Try some different foregrips if you can, see if they have the same problem or not. Good luck.

I do have the ULT on it. I just don't understand why the stock (ugly) one works fine, and the one pictured messes with my valve/trigger. It obviously has something to do with pressure - but it doesn't make sense.

The main problem is that is works sometimes - like at the chrono and the range - and then the problem comes out of nowhere...

I only have this foregrip and the stock one - so playing with other ones isn't possible.

is it a CP regulator? or literally a gas through foregrip (no regulation)? if its a reg you might just have to adjust the pressure going through it. i believe its done via adjusting the small grub screw in the side (if it is indeed a reg)

Nope, it's just a plain gas-thru design...nothing on the inside to regulate flow or pressure.

I am out of shims... Either way, the thing is SO CLOSE to bouncing right now I couldn't add any anyway I don't think.

I have the thing pretty well-tuned, in my opinion at least. It rips when it's getting air...lol

The problem with tech'ing it right now is that it is working FINE. I just gassed it up, just as it is in the pic below, and it rips - no chuffing or leaking whatsoever - the trigger resets perfectly.

Anyway, thanks for the compliment, Rogue - I have the Edge Kit on it now though, I was too worried about scratching that nice CF barrel

run a foot of macro from your on off to the valve, problem solved.

                  just bypass the gas thru
