Automag from Co2 to Air

I was having a rummage around at the back of my garage a few days ago and found my old L7 automag. She set up to run on Co2 and has a small front mounted expansion bottle. I'm just getting back into playing as I've pivcked up a deal on an old IR3 ( too good to pass up) and thought about using the mag as a backup.

I've also seen on another forum an old RT set up for air in need of some TLC, is it possible to take the air system off the RT and bolt it straight onto my old mag, yes I know she's old but has seen me out of some tough scrapes...

Yes, the RT's system goes onto your Mag without changes. The classic Automag valve is also a regulator (hence the engraving: A.I.R.) and is rated to 3000 psi. If the RT has a preset screw-in tank, you can put that right on your existing Mag without changes, even going from CO2 to HPA and back again as necessary.

For the record, you cannot interchange the air bottle from the IR3 to the Mag. The IR3 is a low pressure marker, the Automag is a high pressure marker.

The IR3 is on angel A.I.R so I guessed as much on swapping it between markers

Just a reccommendation, I would bypass the expansion chamber and run the air right into the back of the valve. You could still keep the x-chamber on as a foregrip.

But I could just bolt on an air tank with a high pressue regulator and Bob as they say would be my uncle?

Just considering this as a mate who is practically giving me is old IR3 considers the mag no match for his nexus cocker even though I took him out with the mag on co2 years ago when he was running a trick shocker.

Go for a 4500 system and go for fiber wrapped. Trust me on this.

the only thing you'l need to do is re-chrono the marker if you switch between bottles.
