    Warp Feed Victory Pre-mature

Okay, in the thread below, I documented a problem I was having with my warpfeed, trying to use it with a blowback.

This is the forum for trouble shooting your Airgun Designs products, including the Automag, RT, E-Mag, and WarpFeed. Also a great place to ask technical questions about non AGD products. An Airsmith's homeroom!

I was going to add this new post to that thread, but nobody seems to be reading that thread anymore...probably because I declared victory over my problem as I thought it was resolved.

Well, I finished making an adaptor to go from the 90 degree adaptor into the feedneck. One was available online for $10 + shipping...but with cold water pipe, a little dremmeling, and some masking tape, I was able to make one for about $7. It would have been like $3...but they only sell the pipe in 10 foot lengths so I now have 9.97 feet of pipe I don't need.

But that's neither here nor there.

    Here's the finished product:

Now, I ran into one problem with the warpfeed...just one...but it appears to be kinda big. As I was firing, the balls would move up and then get "stuck". It took some investigating, but I finally figured out that they were getting stuck as they were heading up the tube...right at the part where the tube goes into the warp. After more investigation, it seems that the hose is kinda "rough" where it was cut. Here's a pic:

Now, it's not just where I cut the hose...the other end did it too...just not as bad.

My question is, has anyone else ever had this problem? It seemed like out of 100 balls, 2-3 would get stuck. I tried making a cleaner cut...but I still got like 1 out 100 rounds stuck. And the thing that blows about this is...once one gets stuck...well, it's all over. I gotta turn off the Revy, take the revy off, disconnect the hose, dump the paintballs out of the hose, dump the paintballs out of the top of the Warp, reconnect the hose, then reconnect the Revy. This would take some practice to do in the field...I'm hoping I won't have to. Anyone ever have this problem? The hose is direct from AGD...some new 2ft hose they sell...so it's not like I'm trying to use some crazy hose or something.

Looks like the hose is a little bit too short. If you stretch the hose it will get smaller in the middle. You don't want that...

The only place the balls are getting hung up is right where the hose fits in the adaptor that goes in the warp. They go through the length of the hose just fine. Once they get fed into the hose, they go up and into the gun. It's just that one out of every 10 or so balls gets stuck just before it starts travelling up the hose.

I hope it's not the hose...that dang hose was expensive.

Ok, firstly, ditch the elaborate plumbing for the 90* adaptor. If you take it and dremel the clamp off, it will fit nice and snug into your verticle feed.
Here is a pic of what i mean and a link to more info

And as Tuna said, you dont want to stretch or kink the hose.

that hose is stretchable but you want it flimsy, i made the same mistake with mine and it was getting caught in the same place

i cut a longer piece of hose so it was at less of an angle, not its working like a champ

That's kinda cool...never thought of that. My elaborate plumbing is just a 2in piece of pipe...adds maybe an inch...so I'm not too concerned about it.

I don't thinkI kinked the hose...I'm pretty sure I didn't. The hose is very flimsy...I ddin't stretch it...ust a little bit near the elbow. But on the end where I'm having the problem, the connection from the hose to the warp...that's not stretched...it's flimsy.

One thing that's different is I have the new kind've hose. It's not the old black hose...it's like a rubbery gray hose. They (AGD) said they didn't have 2ft lengths of black hose, only in the grey hose. I hate to have to buy another one...it was kinda expensive.

That's what I'm trying to explain...it's not getting stuck as the adaptor connects to the 90 degree fitting...it's getting caught as it goes from the warp into the hose...right on top of the warp.

I have that exact hose, you have to be VERY carefull with the ends. I had the same problem, turn you dweel on the warp slightly up, and make sure you shave the ends really nice.

I KNOW MAN! It's really bumming me out...the hose is actually a good quality hose...but the ends are goofy and as soon as you put them in the adaptors they just don't work right. It seems like that black hose works alot better.

The problem is, you can't just cut it with a knife...the coil is wire...so you have to cut it with a knife, then cut it wir a wire cutter.

I might have to call AGD and send it back...I mean, it just doesn't seem useable. And eventually, I'm going to keep cutting it trying to get a better end...then it's going to be too short!

So you have the same hose and the same problem? How did you cut yours? Is there any trick to getting the ends good? I think I got the one end good...but what stinks is even the end that I didn't cut gave me problems initially.

Are you using those o-rings that they sell to use on the ends of the hose? I don't think you can use them with this style of hose...I tried and it wouldn't fit in the adpator.

Try fliping the hose around, use the part that goes into the 90* adapter into the warp and the part that goes into the warp into the 90* adapter and see how that works. If it is the hose for sure then it should get stuck at the 90* adapter instead of the top of the warp.

                      hose

One problem that I had was it really was only a few balls that did it...which made me start to think that maybe that was common. Maybe, you just get a few balls out of 100 that are just slightly of kilter and get stuck. I hope not...because it's a real pain when it happens. You have to remember to turn off the revy, unhook the 90degree adaptor, unhook the hose from the warp, empty the hose, then try to get the hose back on with out crushing the ball that is already in the warp waiting to be fed. Arghh.

I might get a chance to try it out tommorrow...I really hope it works...I love the feel of it...I don't know what the nay sayers mean when they talk about it being akward.

i had the same problem with mine i took a jumper out of the board of he warp so the wheel spins longer and it forces the balls longer to get the balls that get stuck out

I'll try that. I took out one jumper...if that doesn't fix it, I'll take out the other one. I started out having two vertically and two horizontally...currently I have two vertically and one horizontally. I could take the other horizontal one out if I'm still having a problem.

                          Thanks.

That looks like you have 2 jumpers horizontally? Doesn't that "decrease" the spin when you add a jumper horizontally? I'm lost.
