I just ordered a mag off of ebay and it comes with a z-on/off valve? I heard that this sorta forces the trigger back out like the retro. Is this true, and if not what does it really do?

Some say that it will give a little reactiveness, some say that it makes the trigger "lighter". Most will tell you that it does absolutely nothing. AGD does not make the Z valve BTW, and it is not made to AGD specifications.
If you do not have any problems with it when you play, then I wouldn't worry about it for now. But, if performance goes down, or leakage occurs, get a stock on/off valve from the AGD Store (use the link above)

mine is sitting in a bag in my closet. It caused some double firing issues with my minimag. If you can ask the seller for the original parts.Comment

The Z-valve works to a certain degree. Dont expect a jack hammer trigger response, because it wont happen. I used the Z-valve and have had a great experience. It gives a slight reactiveness.
Like I said, it was slight, but enough for me to enjoy. The main difference you will notice its that the trigger will be alot lighter. The slimmer pin reduces cross sectional area on the pin which will thus drop force required to force the pin into a closed position.
If you pull the trigger slowly, there will be a point where it will fire, then will force your finger back slightlty for a another shot. The RT valve on the other hand is the real deal, it uses actual input pressure (800psi) to force the trigger back as opposed to a Z valve's normal AIR operating pressure (400psi) to force it back.
So as you can see, you will get a more reactive feel from the RT, but a nice little toy like that costs 200 clams used. While a used Z valve goes for like only 20 clams.
If it comes for free, I say go for it. I call it a poormans RT valve. I would be using it, but I use a Hyperframe now.
